I followed maxjax dimensions and it lifts our 991tt, 997s, 996tt, 996gt2, X5M, 2002, e30m3, e36m3, e46m3, m4 and a lonely Nissan Xterra without any drama.

It should handle a TR3 or 4 without out any problem.  I have not put a full size truck on it but, I don't see any issue other than it would be a little tight to get in and out once you drive through.

Holy crap that's a list of cars! 11?

Reviving this thread as I just got a Dannmar M6.

What spacing did you eventually go with?

Anyone else install a maxjax for their ‘02?

Would also be interested to hear what jack points you are using.

Thanks!

Vince

jack point for a lift are the front of the frame rails and the outer ends of the rear subframe.

why not just set up the lift alongside your car.  put the lift arms where you want them.  adjust the location of the lift posts.....then measure the distance you get...

We added cars since then.. 2 x 991 gt3's, 991 GT3 RS, 991 turbo S, Cayenne GTS, Macan GTS, Nissan GTR, 68 Camaro SS and a VW GTI.  Still yet to put a full size truck on it. We have a GMC 2500 but, it is so lifted, we don't need a lift :)

If you want to put wider cars on it, make the 2002 about the narrowest car you put on it. So, the arms are close to full extension.  It makes it a little more shaky but, it doesn't go anywhere.

The Cayenne is close to 5000 lb. That was the question I asked before I purchased this lift.. The answer I received was that 5000lb was not a problem....with the equipment. I think the limiting factor is the concrete. At near full extension of the lift arms it would be close to what 4" of concrete with no reinforcement  would handle. If I were to repour a new floor for this purpose I would use 6" and add some rebar .

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
