No...the reason was simply that I wanted to work a motor to put out about 250 hp. and was under the impression that it needed a stiffer rear end......

But as you can tell, I am a newbie at the Euro scene..... and thank you all for the input and setting me straight.

 

A dose of reality upside the head never hurt nobody, right?

hopefully you are not planning on using that 250hp for drag racing, burnouts, drifting or other abuses.  2002 rear components (diff, halfshafts, etc) will not take that.  for normal launches and track day stuff, they hold up fine.  at least mine do.
