engine and drivetrain Need Help! Weber DCOEs Running Rich on Mains. Can't Lean Them Out

Holy crap, one is inverted or pushed up, can't tell.  Check the other carb as well.

Open top cover and rotate one, make sure they are pushed down by springs...

Because you cannot, they were inserted the wrong way in... Open cover and get in outside...

Should their be springs on both Pistons? There's only a spring on the one that's down

Think I see the problem now. The one spring is on the wrong side of the gasket!

Try to get the stuck one out of the top.  The dome side goes down and should move smoothly in the bore.  Careful getting it out so as to not scratch the bore.  Once it's in correctly and moving it will need a spring.  Check the other carb too.  Time to call Pierce :-)

Still make gaskets for the cover plates.  That cold start valve may also may be contributing to fuel smell and all kinds of other issues.

While reading all this, i asked myself why dont we all live in the same city. With all our knowledge and weber parts we would make this work in one night. And then grab a beer and talk till late night or early morning in garage.

Exactly, it's very difficult to tune Webers, much less over the internet!  I have tons of parts leftover from 3 years of tuning these things lol.

 

I was in Amelia for the show and for a few adult beverages would have been happy to make a house call!

I have also ton of parts, i have 4 carburetors in parts and a bunch of additonal jets. Also a few paper paper gaskets...

It was in there dome side down, but it's almost as if it's missing something under it because it won't stay up

They are supposed to seat down, then lift up when actuated by the lever which you have eliminated, then spring pushes back down.

Ok I was confused because the other one was higher than that one. The one that is higher also does not move very freely.
