For a new guy here on the board.

What would be the correct way to reinforce the shock mounts to switch to coilovers?

Thx Photos would be great.

Cheers

Girt, there's no "correct" way, reinforcing is reinforcing.  If you'd like shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send over reference photos from a number of properly done cars.

Thanks for the info.

I like the GC stuff, I have their coilovers and top mount camber plates on my Porsche 944 Turbo.

I really want their camber plates for my recently acquired 2002tii, but would need to change to 2.5" ID springs . . . . which I would except I don't plan to track it  and like the current H&R/Bilstein Sport setup for the street . . . . decisions, decisions!

Hey Andrew, are these the E30 rear height adjusters on IE site, not feeling the GCs i got, can't seem to find springs short enough to get my car where I want, let alone different spring rates

Hyperco 2 1/4" springs come in 4", 5" 6" 7" and 8" varieties...  and can cost as much per pair as 4 stock car springs!

The 2 1/2" ones only go down to 6"

For those with rear adjusters, what do you guys use as a bottom spring pad? Seeing as most new/aftermarket springs are flat bottom and flat topped, none of the 2002 pads work...

(I'm using the GC setup)

I ended up trimming the stock spring pads with a beefy razor as I spun it, creating a new flat bottom for the aftermarket springs to sit. Then did the same thing, but on a vertical plane to strip the piece I was cutting out. Worked great and didn't have to buy anything, plus stock like fitment.
