Door mirror gaskets (for the glass, not the metal base)

RAS-2002

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any new ideas? I've seen a number of past posts requesting info on this, but it doesn't seem that anyone has ever come up with a new source, or even some material we could use to make our own. Both Blunt and Maximilian are apparently long out-of-stock. I'm still looking for a source, and if I find anything, I'll let you all know. I just called up a door mirror company, but they don't have any gasket material; it only comes with their mirrors, and they don't sell it separately (probably Chinese mirrors). So, unless someone has already come up with something, I'll keep trying...

Best regards,

Bob

I found mention of it in an old posting and it looks like it was for an M-B trap mirror. I actually found one on ebay, but again, it's for a trap mirror. But hey, if someone needs one, here's the ebay number: 160956990555

I thought Mike Self had a Mercedes part number that worked

Jaymic in the UK has the gaskets for the early Trap mirrors - see pic 4.

And on the Flag mirrors does the gasket come with new glass? - see pic 2.

Good news; I Just heard back from Jaymic (jaymic.com):

My question:

"Do your part numbers 02CR.2013 and 02CR.2014 (door mirror glass)

come with the black gaskets that are shown in the picture? Thank you,

Bob"

Jaymic's response ( from enquiries@jaymic.com ) - - -

"Hello Bob, Yes, the black gaskets are included with the glass.

Kindest Regards, Pete"

More info from Jaymic:

"Sorry to say the gasket is only available as part of the glass for the later (flag) mirrors, whereas for the smaller (trap) mirrors we can only get the insert and not the glass at all! Silly really, but that’s classic car parts for you! Thank you for your order – the RH side mirror glass is on order at the moment and should be with us in our BMW delivery next week. Sorry for the delay, we hardly ever sell the glass these days and then three customers all want one at once!" - Kindest regards, Pete

(Seems that some FAQers are jumping on these... including me!!)
