Great pictures....Tourings "Rule". Pretty fancy company you were running with. Share with us the "Details". Looked like a very fun weekend. Did every Porsche driver get "special" gloves to check their oil. 02 driver can check oil bare handed....

Congrats on your winnings..

Here are a few pictures of Eileen and I in our touring on last weeks Vintage Rally. A little tricky as instructions were in MPH and the touring is KPH But we had a ball

It was a fun-rallye which was founded 2009 in my favorite forum. We were 12 teams that year and i came fourth. Last year, we were 22 teams and i won that thing and this year we were 30 teams and i came second.

It's mostly labeled as a oldtimerrallye but to compete your car needs to be either: a cab, a twoseater, 20years old, a exotic car or noteworthy modified from the original state.

It's mostly Porsches, 12 G-Models, 2 997's, two boxster, one 993 and one 69 911. The rest is Mercedes, especially pagodes and other classic SL's. Two Opel GT's and a few e30 Cabs.

My touring was the only vintage BMW, though one guy restored a E3 from scratch which had a generator failure the night before the event, so he came with his e30 cab.

One of the additional things you could compete at the DoT in was the Helldriver. Goal was to have the fastest time around the parcours. In the end the younger cars get the handicap of 1/10sec per year compared to the oldest car. This resulted in a Porsche 997 Turbo having the fastest time, but being over 30years younger having more than 3 seconds handicap which lead to the win of me with the Touring 2000 :))

As a note: The Porsche was just two tenths of a second faster on the track anyway ;)

Here is my solution to the KPH to MPH dilemma....

Garmin just sucks right onto the speedo.

haha Steve

We were not allowed to use any kind of GPS or onboard computers Just stop watches, calculators and speedometers :) If we had not left early and arrived at the first two checkpoints so early we would have done really well My navigator did great! She did want to use her iPhone GPS app but we didn't :) We wondered how those late model BMWs did so well :)
