Currently stripping this thing down before I kick it to the salvage yard. Let me know what parts you are looking for. Im willing to ship or bring parts to the swap and show.

This car was my first 2002, and two weeks after I got it I got rear-ended by an uninsured motorist and the car was toast. The passenger rear side was pushed in, and due to some rust in the floorboards and the fact it wasnt originally white made it not worth to fix. Insurance wouldnt cover me for the uninsured driver, so now I am just trying to get some of my cost back out of it.

It will help if you tell me what the part is worth it to you, and then I can see if its worth it for me to take off. For example Im not going to take the transmission out for $50, but I will sell a little plastic piece you need for $1.

Also i you are in the bay area and want to come take the piece off yourself you can have it for free.

Suspension is gone, most everything else is there. Just let me know. My goal is to be done with it this week, and then never have to look at it in my driveway again.

Interested in the driver's door if not already spoken for. From the pics it looks to be in reasonable shape. Not looking for show car material, just solid driver with no cancerous rust or torn/separating sheet metal. My brother lives in San Rafael and works in Corte Madera - I'm sure I could convince him to help me out and pick it up. You're in Mill Valley? How much? Also, I have a '71, so other than needing to fill the holes for the knee line trim is there any reason this would not fit?

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your car. That sucks. I'm looking for a speedometer/instrument cluster geared for a 3.91 diff. If it's the correct one the back of the speedometer will have "W 1.39" stamped. Letme know.

Thanks a lot,

Alex

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
