FS Front Aluminum Strut Bars FINALLY! 175.00

The first batch of the front bars are finally done and getting a light polish to remove as much scratches as possible but they are raw which I prefer the look over polished. If you did not subscribed to the original feeler tread, these are replicas of the Cashel/Wiechers bar that they sell for 210.00 before shipping. These are a little thicker and just as light at 3lbs. If you want a black powder-coated bar, those will be another week as I have to wait to piggyback to save $ on setup fee. These will fit all config, s14, M20, any side or down draft set-up, except 75-76 02s unless the washer bottle is removed/relocated. Will fit Tiis if vacuum limiter is lowered 1" by changing the location of the support that holds it.

My fabricator has been around since 1975 and guarantee the welds will not break even under normal track use so the bars will come with a limited lifetime repair warranty. Thanks for everyone's patience. If you are on the original list, I sent you an email unless you do not have an email button (will post that list here for priority). This is a one-time deal but I should have enough to meet demand.

The rear bar will be done in another +/-10 days and limited to only 20 bars. I will open a new tread for those and they will be about. 200-220.00+shipping. Cashel sells these for about 320.00 before shipping.

Please paypal 175.00 to rchau964@gmail dot com, subject FRONT ALUMINUM BAR (put BLACK for the black bar). 165.00 if you want to pick up near downtown LA or San Gabriel area.

Regarding the use of the strut bar on the 1975-1976 USA 2002s: I was able to purchase just the metal bracket that is normally spot welded to the inner fender of the earlier (pre-75) 2002s to hold the washer bottle and pump. I bought one of these many years ago from BMW. Moving the washer assembly to the right inner fender should not be a big job with this bracket. The bracket has a couple of holes, so it can be fastened to the inner fender without any welding. Just need to run new washer fluid lines and extend the wiring for the motor.

I'd like to have one of the extras as well. They just came out so nice I can't resist! I'll send payment via paypal with the understanding that you can refund if unforeseen events mean that you don't have any left!

They are looking nice!

I do have an important question though, What is your and these bars relationship to Weicher's? Are you giving Weicher's any sort of percentage for using their design? I can understand making one or two for yourself and a friend, but to offer them for sale is a whole other intellectual property ballpark. I'd hate to see anything bad come your way because of this.

Nope, no relations with them. As long as I'm not using their name or logo, it's just another aftermarket part but thicker, different grade, etc.. Much like all the millions of non-oem aftermarket parts in the market. I'm in the fashion industry and it's very similar. A high end designer does not have any copyrights rights to their "design", only likeness to their patterns or prints or trademarked name & logo. What really started out as 10 bars to make bring the cost down snowballed. I'm not a copyright attorney but I'm not worried about 40 bars on this one time deal for them to come after me, If they do, I may have made enough to buy them lunch. (btw, 10% proceeds will go to FAQ). But thanks for the concern : )

Back to the bars. OK, they didn't come out as I liked originally, so I had them lightly polished. Picked them up today and I was very happy with the results. They came out so nice, it makes the ends look....well, raw. You guys will need to whip out the polisher to do the ends if it bugs you but it's a decent match. But I'm liking the polish a lot. Paid bars are going out today!

Ray--do you want me to PP the money for the front one now and you'll refund if it doesnt work on tii? I also want a rear--so do you want multiple payments or just one large one for front and rear?

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
