Fuse Box Plug

Can anyone tell me what relay or plug goes here? It's just beside the fuse box.

not a relay socket

that was for the BMW Service Tester diagnostic

machine plug in for Dwell, RPM, Remote Cranking socket

Your missing the RED (orange when old and faded) plastic cover for it

WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING COMPUTER!

.....BUT YOU DO NEED THE SIGN FROM THAT PERIOD :

I always considered the cap orange. I call the fan blade, positive battery lead clamp and plug wires shown in these pix red.

You're right, John, that the cap is orange. I use the socket to connect my remote starter to turn the engine over when adjusting the valves. Both our '02s are automatics so pushing the car back and forth in gear doesn't work. Stick a nail, or similar item in the outside, rear hole on the diagnostic socket and you can connect a remote starter.
