  3. I bought a Raptor liner kit to do trunk, entire cab and engine bay, might buy another one and do the entire bottom of the car but that will be later fixing my car one section at a time.

  5. Follow up post on my sunroof delete using my sunroof panel as the plug for the hole. I had welded about half way the sunroof panel and I needed to finish welding it so I worked on it today. I used a couple of poles to push up where the roof was kind of warped inward along the weld line. My thinking was that since I was going to introduce more welds it would give it a little more support and it worked out to where I am happy with it. I also have seen a few 2002's that had been DIY body worked on the roof and the two body lines had been lost and I needed to figure out a way to make them super obvious so I could massage the sunroof panel to have them as well as to keep them straight throughout the body work process. To do this I spent almost an hour with a straightedge, a ruler and some masking tape until I had them marked very straight on either side of the roof. I then took an angle grinder and a cutoff wheel and ground a line through the existing paint down to bare metal. It helped me immensely when I was pounding them out from the inside of the sunroof panel. All in all it came out good enough to seam seal the whole thing up on the inside then dump some protective paint to keep the rust away until I start the outside bodywork. Next step is to install the two roof supports on the inside but that is for another day. I added a few pictures of the motor I have been cleaning up that I bought from Pdxguy a while ago. I have been healing from a fractured ankle so I wanted to work on something I could do from a sitting position so I spent way too much time with a brass wire brush and about a gallon of citrus cleaner making it pretty again. Enjoy!
  6. Hey guys, I am looking for opinions on what exhaust to run if I were to go to a muffler shop. I will have center exhaust in the rear. Back in the day in our 4 cylinder cars we would straight pipe them and get a single Magnaflow stainless steel glasspack and the long ones would sound pretty good. Late 90's and on it was a turbo muffler but otherwise the same but I always liked the sound of a 18-24" long glasspack. I am not advocating that those are good options but I would like to know your idea of the best sounding cheap and simple exhaust for a 2.0L 2002 and it needs to fit between the spare tire well and the gas tank. Looking forward to your replies!
  7. Hey guys, I have seen it mentioned a few times but without any specifis so I am wondering if any of you can share with me what tools/rescources/technics it takes to fix small dents in beltline trim, rocker trim and early grills. I assume some kind of small anvils and a rubber hammer or something like that to fix the dents? How to you polish them afterwords? I have some pretty decent pieces that I would love to restore myself regardless of how much time it would take. Thanks!
  8. I put a pair of square taillights in the for sale section that have very decent quality used gaskets on them, I marked as NLA but I will be going to where I have them stored on Monday and would sell the pair as advertised if someone bought them before then.
  9. One more image I found on the forums, this shows you the placement of the sunroof and the plastic deflector. I found it in this thread but no further info other than the picture to help:
  10. I dug around the forum and the internet and the first thing I found was this thread: In this thread there is one of these units in it's original box with a serial number of: BMW 82 11 9 401 144 Through a google search his led me to this page which has the diagram with all of the parts listed: Slid.lift. roof-cover/ceiling frame | BMW 7' E32 750iL M70 Japan BMWFANS.INFO Slid.lift. roof-cover/ceiling frame | BMW 7' E32 750iL M70 Japan I included the breakout picture below, this breakout shows the individual part numbers of all of the mounting hardware: 23 Screw 72 60 1 852 660 24 Support 72 60 1 957 904 25 Nut 72 60 1 852 661 In searching for the support I found one source that allows me to add 2 of them to my cart, link to web page here: BMW 735iL Support. Automatic, Manual - 72601957904 | Sytner Stevenage BMW, Stevenage Hertfordshire WWW.SYTNERSTEVENAGEBMWPARTS.CO.UK Support. Automatic, Manual. BMW 735iL. Genuine BMW Part - 72601957904 (72-60-1-957-904). Ships from Sytner Stevenage BMW, Stevenage Hertfordshire Not sure if they actually have it but if I was interested I would go there and add 2 to my cart then try and check out, it is in the UK. One last point, as you can see in the image I provided below this is not for a standard sunroof on a 2002 so I think you need to look at one more item, while also from the same link I got the part number from there is a picture of some BMW paperwork that shows 2 different lengths one of 21mm and one of 25mm. My conclusion if it was me trying to mount this thing would be to roll the dice and try and order the 2 pieces from styner Steven link above and if they dont work to just get a strip of stainless steel and a vice and manufacture a couple of clips, it is literally a strip roughly 3/4 an inch wide and an inch and a half long with a hole and 2 bends. All you have to do is mock it up on your car and figure out what the distance between the top and bottom bend are and in the second picture below it gives 2 different lengths one of 21mm and one of 25mm so that is a good place to start. Hopefully this gives you something to work with, you have the 2 mounts that came with the unit you can use to figure out what orientation they go in and then use a pencil or marker to mark where the tabs would need to be to clip in. If they end up being close to the 2 different lengths one of 21mm and one of 25mm then even better. Hope that helps! Good luck! Post pictures of your end result that thing is going to look sweet!
  11. Ed, This is CagedBunny selling this, I asked to buy it then decided against it and used my damaged sunroof panel to weld up my roof, his undamaged sunroof panel which is listed above is still for sale by him. Hope that helps. 😉
  12. Might want to take some good pictures and measurements of the housings then look on digikey, all electronics and molex online
  13. OK this thing is not as cool as I thought it was, it goes for 16 bucks on amazon it is for a motorcycle LOL! Marking it as sold as it has nothing to do with BMW 2002's (my bad hahaha).
  14. For sale my 1974 complete grill, black plastic pieces are complete with no cracks. A little dirty/rough but would look mad decent with a good clean or minty with a slight sand and new coat of paint. Center grill is also complete, missing one mounting screw (see pictures) could easily epoxy one in. I am asking $90.00 shipped to CONUS if you pay as PayPal friends and family. Please PM me with any offers.
  15. I agree, this is selling as a set and most of the parts are from or for my 1974. Thank you for the clarification, I appreciate it.
  16. This is a mystery gift that cam with my car, it has 00000.3 miles on it and appears to be a mechanical KM/H gage with Neutral light blinker light and hi beam light. Please PM me with any offers.
