  1. Ok thanks. Yep, noticed the rust hole too. What's a good (best price) source for both?
  2. Investigation continues. When the car idles, I see a slow drip about 1ft in from left front wheel. Looking up from underneath, I think I found the source of the leak, or at least the part from where it drips down. Leak might be above it. Can you help me identify what this part is? Thanks!
  3. I know. I'm surprised I haven't found it yet. I have a hunch it's the front left brake. Saw a small dry streak on the rim.
  4. Ah thanks for the tip. I was trying to keep the plastic elbow in place.
  5. Good good. I like that I can narrow down my search. Taking off the wheels should get me closer to an answer.
  6. Knowledgeable PO replaced front pads and caliper bolts in 2015 and in 2016 he rebuilt the rear brakes, new Brembo drums, shoes, wheel cylinders (tii versions), rubber hoses, parking brake cables. That of course doesn't rule out that the leak is somewhere there. I think it's actually more likely, since my reservoir fill level was dropped way below the clutch feeder line and into the two separate brake compartments at the bottom. If the leak was in the clutch and not the brakes, wouldn't it have stopped dropping further down once the clutch feeder line lay bare?
  7. There's definitely a leak somewhere, because I'm losing fluid. The vacuum line from brake booster to engine though was sucked on do tight that I couldn't even pull it off. I had just driven the car for 20 mins though. I think I'll double-check the non-pressurized supply lines from reservoir to cylinders etc. Those sit higher than everything else and could leak fluid along the way. When driving, the brake is strong and I don't sense a lack of hydraulic pressure just from the way it feels. With the clutch fully bled now, it engages right away when I barely press the pedal. I guess that's normal? I was used to it engaging further down but to be fair I apparently was running on half air in the cycle before. I think I'll take the wheels off and check for leaks. And will replace master and slave if I don't find any. What's a good source for those parts? Should I get new or will used do?
  8. Like for both vanity plates.
  9. Haven't checked for moisture in the booster yet, but question: If it leaks while sitting in the garage, is it even possible that it would leak into booster and vacuum lines? Wouldn't those only draw in liquid while the engine is running?
  10. Full set of used upper belt trim. Evenly dulled surface. Some minor dents along the way. Pieces not bent and overall in good shape. Seam covers included (the little pieces that slide over the trim pieces). $300 + shipping ($20 and up within the US depending on service and speed).
  11. Thanks. Just reread the thread and am clear on how to check booster vs master cylinder. Thinking i’ll also place paper at all four wheels and under the engine bay. My garage floor is too spotty from recent coolant flush and oil change to be able to tell if any new puddles are forming. Just checked the pedal box again and it still looks like last time. That is, slightly wet clutch rod, otherwise dry all around. Will stuff some paper in there too to catch liquid.
  12. Got it. How would the reservoir leak into it? It's completely clear of it, i.e. any fluid dripping down from the reservoir would miss the booster entirely. I had read here that I could dip a stick into the booster to check for fluid. Where/which screw would I undo to do that?
  13. Car sat for a week and lost about half the fluid in the reservoir. It went down to just above the clutch line. Now, I want to check the brake booster but have to admit I don't know what it looks like. You guys mentioned it would be right below the reservoir. I just undid the two screws at the top that hold the reservoir in place and moved it to the side a bit. I didn't see anything but lines below. Those are all dusty and dry btw, including the nearby sheet metal. My hunch is a leak elsewhere, and/or the clutch master cylinder situation. But just to rule it out, can you help me identify the break booster? Thanks!
  14. To make access easier, taking the entire bumper off is no big hassle I found.
  15. Ha. Mine are all missing so I didn't even know they're supposed to be there!
  16. I don't have a full set anymore, but a couple of crucial parts if you want to build it up yourself. Hit me up if you need compressor, condenser, fan or dryer.
  17. If anyone is still looking for a set, I have one I'm willing to part with.
  18. Interesting! Has anyone tried fitting a Weber downdraft to the snorkel?
  19. Update: in 48 hours I didn't lose any amount of brake fluid from the reservoir. So I figured I try bleeding again. At first, the clutch just fell to the floor. I've been sitting here for half an hour now and it slowly started sucking up liquid from the reservoir on pedal release. I let it run down the clear tube towards the slave to replace all the air. I'm now pretty much at the point of no air. Video below. In the process I've refilled the reservoir with more fluid as I was filling all the lines and the slave by pumping. The clutch engages early and strong now. The brake pedal is also tight - seems fully primed. So, am I good? I honestly had never before checked the brake fluid. If a leak is present, it's very slow. And I can monitor it. What's next? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. $1,300 new? Or is that just 1 of 3 pieces (are they sold separately)?
  21. Posting just got deleted. Womp womp.
  22. Thanks Scott, really appreciate all the detail and logical separation of areas! All good and new knowledge for me. In terms of AFR, is there a certain piece of equipment you recommend? Maybe on the budget friendly side? I have the fancy timing light at the ready for when the time comes. So far I can only tell you that I have an electric fuel pump under the car in the rear near the tank. Not sure what its PSI is, but the fuel filters (there's 3 total, before and after pump, and right before carb) are always just half full.
  23. Waffle House! So jealous because there isn't any in NYC or nearby.
  24. Thanks guys! Will check that out tomorrow night.
