  1. Got mine. Really nice!! I have it hanging in the study. Looks good in there. Thanks again Steve!
  2. No response from seller. Is the car sold or did you change your mind? The favor of a response is requested. Thank you.
  3. Got it! I obviously needed more coffee. I did a mock-up when I did the front duckbill. Rigid cardboard worked fine. Then we used, I think 14 gauge metal. I am glad I did the mock-up first. Saved a lot of time and wasted material. There is a thread somewhere on the forum of what others have done. If you can find it . I didn't take enough pictures of mine to do a DIY.
  4. That pretty much all I did. It requires follow up polishing. Which I did not do. I could not locate a sealer. I think the POR 15 people have a product now.
  5. I realize I just woke up but, that is hard to visualize. If I did 3M here some bastard would lift it.
  6. Welcome to the world of "WTF?" All you have had to go through and all you will have to grow through will change the pace of life. The secret is not to loose your spirit. Illness and the wonderful world of medicine will and can, try to take it from you. As far bills are concerned, do the best you can. I lost my medical and my flying job. I was able to fall back on my initial vocation and find work in a level 1 trauma center. I eventually got my medical back and will start flight instructing this year. My 02 is part of my *uckit (sounds a lot like bucket) list. I'm not dead. But, it could come back. I say, "You want me, come get me bitch!!!!" In the meantime, I will see you on the road. I believe the first one to the finish line WINS!
  7. We are getting a group gathered. Count to date is 8 cars. This includes 2002s, e30s and e28. I have on the list of potentials: 66 Volvo wagon, 63 Mini. Working on the Alfa, British and Fiat guys
  8. Excellent!!! Now does dad get his garage back?

  10. Not having made up my mind yet, still " bumperless." When I do add the rear bumper it will be a shortie on my 76. The big holes have been welded and filled. I do have the 4 ovals when the time comes to put the shortie on. I did consider cutting a 67-69 Camaro rear bumper http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-rear-bumper-chrome-1967-1968.html At 90.00 bucks, it was a consideration.
  11. EXCELLENT!! That makes four 02s. I told Martin he has to go. That will be five from here so far. I've been in contact with some vintage Mini, Alfa, British, Fiat, VW, E28, E30 and Volvo owners. Hope to hear something soon.
  12. Sounds like a fantastic event. Unfortunately that's my weekend to work. Good luck to you on the track. Car looks great!
  13. My solution. And it worked like a dream. First, I have new carpet from Esty. The circle cut-out for the shifter is about 3 inches. Today at Lowes I found in the plumbing section a quality, thick but pliable, black rubber Pipe Hub Donut. Made by American Valve measuring 3x3 inches. It has a part number of RPHD75 #70389. Mine cost $5.33 http://www.lowes.com/pd_70389-34146-RPHD75_0__?Ntt=rphd75+%2370389&UserSearch=rphd75+%2370389&productId=1098191&rpp=32#70389 The Donut has a "collar " on one end and 4 tapered "chevrons" above it. I shortened the length of the donut by removing the top half (or two chevrons). Then I inserted the collar end into the carpet opening. Dam tight so I cut 3 vanes of about 1/4 inch into the carpet to take the slightly larger diameter of the collar end. Using a rigid plastic blade (tongue depressor style and size) I gradually worked the collar under the carpet within the existing 3 inch opening cut for the shifter. It was a little like putting a bicycle tire back on the rim. After it was in I slipped the OEM leather boot over it. The "chevron" vanes were perfect for the elastic base in the boot. Sorry for all the quotes. If my dam phone would download the pics into my PC I would have a better DIY for you. I'm working on that. In the meantime PM me if you need help.
  14. ORDERED!!! Thanks for putting it together man. Going on the fridge. Now she can circle all the important dates surrounded by beauty. The caption for the 1600 with Florida plates, November, top right "NO part leaves here for less than 10 dollahs! Its as old as an antique boy! Hell them seats just need a liddle armor-all"
  15. Willkommen to the group. Car looks like it has a lot of potential. I will ask around for paint and body. My guy went back home to Nurnberg. Thanks for posting. Let me know if you want to grab coffee one morning.
  16. I don't know of anyone off hand but will keep an eye open. We have a small group of 02 people formed if you need help. Keep us posted.
