  1. Finished installing a new radiator (3core) + hoses, followed by a segmented 3 hour drive with straight distilled water, let it cool, drained that water and refilled again with distilled water. Not sure if I'm satisfied with the results as the intent of the swap was to help achieve a 3 o'clock temperature reading during normal driving conditions. The indications below were during a night drive, low 70s outside and after about 45 seconds at a stoplight, the temp will drop to the desired 3oclock. Exact same thing will happen on a 90 degree day. On another note, freshened up the cockpit with a laced steering wheel and rubber shift boot.
  2. Did you have to do any modifications/chopping to the IE silicone upper radiator hose to make it fit right? The one I received looks to be the right shape...however it seems to be an inch too long on one side and I’m thinking it will still be scrunched up even if I chop it down. All the other hoses fit like a charm.
  3. Does anyone have a spare main carpet segment for the drivers side floorboard? A grey one in decent shape would be ideal.
  4. Do you know the torque specs for the housing bolts? I can’t find any numbers in the repair manuals.
  5. It was pretty warm to the touch a few weeks ago
  6. I am prepping my '02 for a changeover from my 20 yr old msd ignition setup to a 123ignition distributor. While tracing a wire from the distributor's condenser connector over toward the drivers side of the engine bay, I found that it connects to a part I can't identify (see picture). It seems to be covered in tape and has been there ever since I first got the vehicle (2003). Any idea what it is? I don't see it in any wiring diagrams or engine bay photos around the web. Also, I am under the impression that some components (resistor) are discarded when upgrading to the msd 6a. Will any of that be put back in now that I'm switching back to only having a distributor? Thanks, Scott

  8. In the aftermath of owning my '73 Tii, I have accumulated a few sought after parts that I would like to get rid of. I do not have a set price on anything but am more interested in just cleaning out the inventory. Shipping is free as long as you live within the US. Scott

  10. I have an al116x alternator in my '73 and am confused as to what extra modification is needed in the wiring schematic. I recognize the B+ main power terminal and alt cover ground wire, but what else needs to be connected to this alternator? Electrical problems have been haunting me ever since I installed this model and I can't find any helpful data anywhere.. Thx, Scott
  11. A new battery fixed the issue and she's back online, thanks again Daron
  12. Thanks for the help, I'll try a new battery tomorrow. I forgot to mention the tachometer also was not responsive...I'm worried
  13. It appears that I have caused a short in my electrical system. While putting in new carpet down on the drivers side the top right corner caught my 'poorly' wired yellow B+ wire for my stereo and ripped it out. This wire was able to swing around, zap my keys which were dangling in the ignition and then swing back and burn/adhere to a spot on the new carpet. I reinstalled the yellow wire via butt connector and finished the carpet job. Was able to start the car, go to the store, start up again and drive home. However now the stereo started cutting off when I applied the brakes (and coming back on) the turn signals were not functioning correctly and the hazard signal was dim and also not working. I got out when I got home and walked around and saw all lights were on at normal brightness. Jumped in the Beemer this morning and it needed a jump. Took it for a spin, parked again and same result...battery is reading 12-12.5 volts cold, when I turn the key to the ignition position, it drops to about 9-9.5v, turn it over and I get a click. The yellow wire I mentioned is tied into the smaller gauge red(rt) wire on the ignition. In my Hanes diagram, this line goes to a light switch(item 45) which I have heard of but don't know where it's located. I did a parasitic draw test on the system and didn't find anything inspiring. How bad is it? Thanks for your input
  14. Thanks for letting me on to Roger's Tii. Its always good to have multiple sources for finding these parts. I have made due by making the measurements and slightly adjusting the enriching screw on the throttle but I will definitely be putting a new rod on order.
  15. I am going to try messing with the 'adjust joint pin' to see if that helps with the play
