  1. About 8-9 months ago, there was a posting of a local source in the San Jose or nearby area that carried these alternators. I've not been able to locate that thread thru search. Hoping someone here remembers. Davesdiscountparts seems to have the best price in my brief search ($102 + core) -- anyone have any feedback on them? Sources with lower prices appreciated as well. Thx, Byas
  2. Swap the bulbs left to right to confirm bad bulb.
  3. Sounds like the booster is leaking and let air through. If you disconnect and plug the hose to the booster, that should get your engine running correctly. Your brakes will be manual, but if the booster was leaking it was not providing any help anyway. Time to get your booster rebuilt or good used one or a NOS one. B
  4. This is where I mounted mine. Easy routing. Not easily visible -- and works perfectly. Byas
  5. I don't believe there were any O2 pump cars. 74Tii Calif. had no O2 pump. Just a deceleration retard valve and vacuum retard distributor. B
  6. Or you could follow my motto... "if it ain't broke, fix it... now it WILL be broke"
  7. Jimk, So, are filtering/straining elements of 400 (35micron) or larger called strainers and anything finer called filters? Or are there any other considerations? B
  8. they come from the bulkhead/fusebox area. I think it is in the same bundle as the ignition wires until it reaches the distributor. B
  9. Carl, Were you using 12mmID hose? What inline filter did you use? I've not found a 12mm inlet/outlet inline filter yet. Byas
  10. Luckily, I had actually cleaned out the expansion chamber almost 4K miles ago - whilst still on the car. Couldn't get the rest of the gunk until I had dismounted it. So, I think it'll be ok. Good link. Thanks! I just sent them an email. Sending them some dimensions would be good just in case they already had something that would work. The inline filter at the KF inlet measured abou 7mm OD x 25mm. I wonder if Jim has measurements for the other one (and confirmation for the first one). Will post back here when I hear from the company. Byas
  11. As I had noted in an earlier thread, I discovered the inline filter is missing from the pump in my car. Part number 16.12.1.110.497 is NLA, but I'm slightly hopeful of finding a used good one or a NOS one. Back-up is to install a regular filter between the tank and the electric pump, but finding one with 12mm inlets may be a challenge. Since I had the car up and access, I decided to pull off the pump to clean it up and renew the hoses. Byas
  12. I just discovered that my electric fuel pump is missing that inlet screen. I don't see it on the online parts list, but the parts manual PDF confirms the number the dealer gave me 16.12.1.110 497. But, have not been able to find it anywhere yet. Byas
  13. Apparently same bolt is used in MB as well. Though not with a screen inside. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126-s-se-sec-sel-sd/1701782-fuel-filter-repair-hollow-screw-nla.html
  14. What should I torque it to? It was not too tight when I removed it -- perhaps 15ft-lb. I've got it up to 24ft-lb now with the old washers back on for now. B
  15. Those bolts are NLA per the dealer. The parts guy did point me to a local Porsche specialist who may have the parts since porsche's also used the KF pumps. Will try them. I couldn't get the washers either. Dealer can order it @$5.00/washer. So, will need to try online or at the Porsche place. B
  16. Yes, it is M12, thx! I pulled the one in my car out and noticed there were a couple of small holes on the mesh filter. Wonder if this part is still available? It's 25mm long and 7mm OD. Perhaps some carbs use similar stuff? Byas
  17. Any chance you know the size? Wanted to get them before I remove the banjo bolt.
  18. Jim, The pump on my Tii has 2 Cu washers on the inlet bolt. I don't see that on the BMW parts diag. Was it on yours? Wondering if that is a one use only washer and what size I would need to replace it. B
  19. I have the innovate LM2, but did not know you can adjust for blend. I will. Most pumps here are roughly 10%. That's close enough for me.
  20. Keep in mind that the AFR sensors and gauges are set up for straight gasoline. If used with an Ethanol blend -- like a 10% blend, the AFR readings should be reduced by ~4% to give the equivalent Gas AFR. So, a reading of 14 is equal to an actual AFR of 13.5. Byas
  21. Classicman, Have you checked for air-leaks? Pump belt on correctly and not advanced/retarded? Byas
  22. Hey Rob! I found these in a VW Bug at the Rancho yard. Was looking for some parts for my '71 vert.
  23. Does a washer need to be used with the sender? Some ebay pics show a washer. I think not, but wanted to confirm. B
  24. I got a vdo 0-80 gauge this am from a PnP, so searched a bit on what sender I should use. Does the sender use a M12 size thread? If so, this seems to be the sender: http://www.vdo-instruments.com/sensors/pressure-sensors-switches.html?max_sender_value=511&prod_sec_sub_type=1461&thread=482 Can it be installed directly without an adaptor? A few pics that came up in search show an adaptor being used. Thx, Byas
