  1. +1 Lots of good info on the FAQ. . If your system is shot, consider converting. If not, stay w r12. At a minimum get hobie Dave's bracket to ditch the York compressor for a sanden.
  2. Need a functioning hazard switch, price plus shipping to 78703. Austin, Tx. Thanks much.
  3. Terry Sayther is having an 02 roundup the first weekend of November, 2013. Driving from Austin to Fredericksburg for a overnight weekend get together. More info can be found at http://texas02berfest.com FYI
  4. I was able to get a speedo from Creede here in Austin about a month ago and took it over to Rick at Overseas Speedo to have it checked out an cleaned up. He's about 2 miles from my place. Got it back in a couple of days and popped it in over the next weekend. Easy as pie. Cleaned up the cluster while I was at it. Nice to have a speedo working again.
  5. Traced it back to the hazard switch. Seems like the red push button does not hold in the off (pushed in) position and is affecting the left side ,and sometimes the right. Going to replace the hazard switch as it appears to be a sealed switch. This explains why it came on by itself. Now off to the parts for sale forum. Thanks all.
  6. I'll check out the switch this weekend. Thanks for the where to look first advice. Flasher is working fine......
  7. Left flasher just came "on" this morning. Signal stalk was not in the up or left flasher position. Did a quick search on the FAQ and it appears the flasher relay is the first place to look. Anyone had this happen before? I pulled Fuse 6 until I can figure this out. Thanks. Gilbert in Austin

  9. When you're ready to replace. Heat up the sockets of the gas pedal with a hair dryer or heat gun. Makes installation a breeze. Got this from a prior post here on the FAQ. Another maintenance gem.....
  10. I've got some old 14" Australian alloys on my '73 and the original 13" steel wheel in the trunk for the spare. I'd like to swap out the spare with a 14" steel wheel. Is there a BMW/VW/Mercedes/Mazda 14" steel wheel with the correct offset that I can get so that I've got the same size all around?
  11. FCP has got a sale on some 1800/2000 series parts. I've ordered from them a couple of times; no sales tax and free shipping for orders over $25 if you're not in a hurry. Takes about a week to get stuff to your door. FYI http://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/2002tii/Clearance/ No affiliation, just like saving a few bones when I can.
  12. Nathan. Old post. If you've still got this clamp I'll take it. Thanks.
  13. I'm paraphrasing, but something like " 90% of your carb problems are in the ignition".
  14. Perfect. Thanks Contact me as we get closer. Regards. g.
  15. Anyone got a spare speedo/instrument cluster for sale? My speedo died in spectacular fashion a week ago. Thanks. Gilbert in Austin.
  16. Looking for a working speedo for my '73 roundie. Mine gave up the ghost a week or so ago. Price plus shipping to Austin, TX 78703 Thanks.
  17. Alfa Romeo with roundie tail lights. Twas never meant to be, but yet it exists......
  18. Thanks for the replies. In the process now of getting it checked out. I'll update the status later. g.
  19. Driving home and the car stalled on me, was able to coast home but would not fire. Checked carb, getting gas. Took off the distributor cap and the rotor has about an inch of play in either direction. The squeaking sound it's making when I turn the rotor is also new..... Sound familiar? Thanks.
  20. 2nd in line for turn signals. Please reply or email if 1st falls through.
  21. Should've posted the title; Amount of mileage decrease....doh. I knew there was going to be a drop, just checking to see if 20 mpg is about right.
  22. Got my car back on the road this week after an electrical issue hiatus. Thanks Jim Gerock for your help! Right before the break I installed the synchronous linkage kit and noticed and enjoy the performance increase, but gas mileage has dropped considerably; from 25 mpg now to around 20 mpg. Anyone else experience a drop this significant? Thinking of going back to the progressive setup if I can't get it dialed in a little better...... TIA
