    Thanks, at this point I think I'm removing the bits. Most the info needed I've found in other threads but figured I'd photo and document all the hoses for anyone looking later. More pictures to come.

    The hose barb on the intake manifold is an M18x1.5 thread. This is the same thread as an O2 sender, so plenty of caps out there to plug the hole.

    We have a very original and unmolested 1969 2002. It still has all the smog equipment that it was sold with and all was in working order. This system seems to apply to '68-'70 and consists of a smog pump and gulp valve only. At this point the hose from the gulp valve to the intake manifold has fallen to bits and is NLA requiring some action be taken. So I figured I'd try and document what is installed on this car. What is connected to where. And what the threads are on the manifolds. Figure this way I have a reference to put it back, and so do others.

    I've been playing with 3D printed bell mouths to smooth the air flow into the carb on smaller motorcycles and scooters and was thinking the same could be applied on our 02. From the work of Gordon Blair the ideal bell has an elliptic cross section and an opening quite a bit wider than any of the trumpets you can buy. Been playing with what angle they have to be tilted at to get them to clear each other and it looks like 30* does the trick. The intake length could also be changed to dial in the tuned length for a given setup. The material is nylon and is quite strong and seems to deal with the temp at the carb just fine (on the bikes at least). This is a design exercise for me (not looking for sales), but if anyone has been looking for a trumpet of a given length or shape that is not available, I could probably accommodate that. Was thinking it could work well in some of the Alpina air boxes, maybe.

    No, it would mean it's registered in Munich. The big cities get a single letter before the space (M for Munich, S for Stuttgart...). The suburbs get two letters (FS for Freising, TÜ for Tübingen...). Then the villages get three letters, best to stay away from these cars as they rarely know how to drive.

    bigger question is what size brakes do you plan to stick inside those rims? big wheels + small brakes = crappy stopping.

    Not quite totally the extra oxygen pumped into the exhaust will reduce CO and HC emissions a bit, but not as much as if there were a cat.

    agreed! with this design you'd be applying a force sideways across the beam so you'd either have to make it massive or it would bend. Think of straws, how much force can they take just pressing on the ends vs applying a force in the middle?

    Set of four 13x5.5 et18 turbines. Includes 9 center caps, some better than others. Free, local pickup only (San Francisco). I could deliver them if it's not too far and someplace fun to drive.

    Just go with those descriptions. The first one got me out of paying back registration in California as it showed the car had "historical significance". That combined with the fact that it was more than 25 years old and was owned by a "collector" exempts you from having to file a non-opp or paying back registration.

    California recently change when they send renewals and how and when late fees are added. Fees are now due "within 30 days of the due date", instead of by the due date.
