  1. David, Before you pull the trigger on the wheel and column, see me, I have one. Russ
  2. Well, I suppose it is time to get a project blog started, just not sure what to call it yet so I will start here with one post and move to the project side after taking some pics of the car and the cool stuff my sons and I have been accumulating. ...and to get started what is the most important part of the car...Right! The Speedo! That we we all can see what the limits of fun are before something red & blue shows up behind us! With the help of Ken at Vintage(he sold me the gauge) I redid my temp and turn signal indicator to look like this...I have never seen one with actual temperature markings, just the red & blue or a turn signal indicator that is white(not faded) Some of you more veteran folks maybe, just not noobie me. So if you have an old BMW gauge, let me know and I can show you how to switch the temp part into your cluster. Oh and one more thing...This is the best forum I have ever seen! You guys are great! (even the gay ass bitches...man that post was funny) Russ
  3. Pat, Ken @ vintage has dibs on it. If he does not want it, it is yours. I am waiting to talk to him after he gets back from camping. thanks, Russ
  4. Tim, I just put it on the 1.8 head I have and it fits fine. Shoot me an email. thanks, Russ
  5. SEATS SOLD, HEADER SOLD, HEAD SOLD. Thanks David, Tim & Ken. I have a set of Recaros and a header for sale. Not sure of the brand on the header. It is in ok shape(scraped & dented on bottom by PO) Recaros are fair I would say. the driver is rougher than the passenger. I would like $150 on the Recaros and 100 on the header(what I paid for it) No need for either, I have a stahl and another set of seats for the car we are rebuilding. Oh, and I have an 83 1.8 head if that is of any interest. I will ship at cost. Email: russhewitt AT yahoo Dot Com http://www.flickr.com/photos/54262837@N04/?saved=1 Thanks, Russ
  6. Esty, You are so right it is kind of like on craigslist when they continue to post every day....love the overpost button! Russ
  7. You can also use a fine cut cleaner from Mcguiers(sp?) and buff it off. I have to about twice a year for my wifes car as she can't judge those yellow poles at McDonalds when she is getting a cone...argh... Russ
  8. Dont you use the guest room for storage? That is where I got busted, with 4 seats, 4 rear windows, the mistake was leaving the door open....Now I have been banished to the garage. BUT at least it is a 2 car garage with a beer fridge!
  9. If you want a nice car in Taiga, 3nsahalee is selling his. I think it is still for sale. He had it on craigslist seattle. You can see the car, just search 3nsahalee on the faq i have seen it. it is a nice car. Russ

  11. Try Blunt. He has them I bet. Russ
  12. That is beautiful! Do you have any shots of the engine bay with no wire? My son was telling me some of his Honda buddies did wire tucks and I was trying to figure out how to do that on our 70 we are starting on. Russ
  13. What year is it from? thanks, Russ
  14. Hi Rob, Welcome from fellow newb. You can use the parts wanted section to get just about anything. As well, I have one. Just drop me a line. russhewtt AT yahoo dot com Russ

  18. Good to see another '02 on the way to recovery. Good Luck, Russ
  19. I used about 15 lbs for the "flat" parts of the floors. Use good gloves though and a fan my son thought of last night while it was over 85 up here in Washington(hot for us). We were talking about how to do the slanted areas, and came up with an idea. Use a 2x4 or something appropriate to make a "U" shape and pour the dry ice in it and move it around the slanted area. I bought for something like 3.99 a set of trim removers from Harbor Freight and they are what we used to scrape the tar out as it turns rock hard when frozen. Good Luck, Russ
  20. I would be thankful the wife does not go out back. Our stupid homeowners association will not let me keep only running cars on my property and the wife gets mad when I keep parts in the guest room! The spares are guests! Your lucky you have the space! Russ
  21. Michael, Use dry ice, no chemical residue, just do not do it in a sealed garage or do not do it without a fan. You can knock yourself out. I did it after my 19 year old showed me a video of it on Youtube. it is really easy. find a place that will sell you about 20 lbs of it. preferable pellets. About the size of ice cubes. just dump them on the tar stuff, and wear leather gloves. I used welding gloves to move it around as to not get burnt/frozen. then you will start to hear it crack and you can scrape it up with a plastic scraper as to not damage the floor. I thought my kid was crazy, but it works and we did not have to melt it or use any kind of noxious chemical. Russ
