    Thanks much Guys, much appreciated! This helps make the decision much easier! My father-in-law has a big old sundiagnostic(I think that is the name) machine and he thinks he can dial the carbs in really well.

    Thanks Toby, they are really nice down there. I have 2 old ones so my son is going to run them down and see if we can get a "mild" and a "wild" one made. and for the money, what a bargain! I would think more folks would do this. Russ

    Sure why not, I have a few left. The neighbors and I are using them for "social events" like drinking in the garage when the wardens (wifes) are not around. Most of the neighborhood wifes do not like me as I have a cool car in the garage to work on and beer. I guess I am a bad influence...oh well. So big mugs 1 liter from germany say 10 bucks+shipping and the half liters 5 bucks+shipping, and I can combine shipping for more than one. which were you wanting. I will see if I still have it.     Search Ebay Germany under "BMW Doppelscheinwerfer". They are on there from time to time. That is where I got mine for our '70. Even came with a great set of Hella lights and a bracket for an '02. Russ

    Hmm, maybe time to start searching porsche parts....to see if I can replicate it. I just like the idea of being able to see the temp...not a line between red & blue. Heck, my 528i just has the red & blue and it is 30 years newer than our 70.

    thanks, I got the gauge from Ken (KMB02) at vintage bmw racing. I think it was a euro 2000CS gauge someone said. It was really easy, the rings inside I just painted light flat gray(like a primer) to give it a bit of depth. I wish I had a way to stamp out that little aluminum part and have it silkscreened. Russ
