  1. No Worries. What I will do is try to save a space in our section so that when you arrive we can try to fit you in.
  2. All, The 02's are going to meet at the Taco Bell Parking lot right off of rte 1 in Portsmouth, NH at 7:15AM. I spoke with the BavAuto Staff this morning and if we are all in line by 7:30 they are going to have a section for us to line up like last year. See you there Peter 74tii (Malaga) 76 (Inka)
  3. Once again a great Nor'East 02ers gathering. All are welcome so feel free to reach out and join our very low key drives. If you can drive it you are in!
  4. All, My 74 Tii was crushed this winter when the industrial building where the car was stored (Ipswich, MA) collapsed due to a heavy Feb/rain/snow storm. For those who know the car or have seen pictures on the FAQ, on the NOR-East 02ers site, the Tii was a perfect car. Albeit today crushed, the engine, drivetrain & transmission is perfect. (had it running today as I was disassembling the front bumper!) I want to sell the engine at a reasonable price however it would be a local pick up and the engine is still in the car. I want to be sure that this car lives on by keeping other 02s alive. Feel free to call me at 978-771-2903 if you are interested and want more details. Best Regards, -Peter
  5. Tony & Mike, great pictures and thanks for attending. Perfect arrival timing! We would have watied for you guys in that one of our motto's: no 02 left behind!! Thanks to all the Nor'East 02ers and friends for attending the morning pre drive meet/greet and for those who went on the drive. We'll be doing it again! Best, Peter 74 Tii Malaga
  6. All, for those in the North East, our spring meet/drive is on for this Sunday, May 16th. Details below and on our web site:http://bmw2002.us/// The Drive - Sunday, May 16th The drive is a Mass "North Shore" route which will start at the Steven's Estate in North Andover, MA. Once everyone arrives, makes introductions and and review the drive, the route takes us on back roads through Boxford, Topsfield, Ipswich - stopping for lunch at a rustic seafood place (They have other non seafood items however bringing you own lunch is an option as well), continuing onto Gloucester, Rockport and ending in Manchester by the Sea (Tuck's Point). It criss-crosses many highways so people can pick-up or drop off if you need to. (We'll have our cell phones with us.) 7. I had the same exact problem just a few weeks ago with my 74Tii. After all the linkage, settings, mix etc was checked and set up correctly it still had hesitation at crusing speed. As it turned out, we replaced the old spark plug wires with new ones and the problem went away. Good Luck Peter 74Tii (Malaga) bmw2002.us
  8. Jim, Thanks for the picture. This is really helpful.

  10. Passed a nice 02 heading out of the old center towards 125 around 4pm today (4/13/10). I was driving my 74 Malaga Tii. We have a local 02 group here in NE and a few upcoming events. If interested, please send me a note and I will include you in our broader communications. Our web site is located at http://bmw2002.us Regards, Peter 74 Tii (Malaga) peterodriques@hotmail.com
  11. Flipper, Greetings. I noiced on this forum thread that you are in New England. We have an informal 02 club (Nor'East 02ers) that spans MA, RI, NH, NE, CT & NY. See our web site (bmw2002.us.) I live North of Boston and we are planning a May meet and drive event. If you send me a note to my email address below I will include you in our broader email communications. Congrads on your 02, welcome, and hope to hear from you. Best Regards, Peter 74Tii (Malaga) peterodriques@hotmail.com
  12. Safest method-rent a double axle car carrier trailer from U-Haul if you have the correct tow vehicle. I have towed my Tii many times with this configuration behind by suburban. Worth the $ 70/day. Foolish to skimp on the trailor.
  13. Roger, I have a 74Tii and just installed all new lower body trim 2 weeks ago after a partial paint job. From what I understand, the metal clips with the small nut is used for the outer most hole/sections of the trim (if accessible via the body panel). So for example, with the front most piece of trim on the fwd fender, I was able to use the metal clip in the fwd most hole closest to the rear for the front wheel, followed by plastic clips. I could not access the rear section of the trim on the front fender hence the use of a plastic clip. Second example, the door. I used plastic clips fwd to rear except the rear most hole where I used a metal clip in that it is easily accessible via the rear edge of the open door. Hope this helps. -Peter
  14. Russ, Greetings. Scott and I noticed that you are located in MA and have an 02. We have a great group (10+) of 02 owners located in North Shore, Seacoast/NH/Maine area's that have started an informal club. We had our first meet/drive last Sunday and we are planning a few more drives for next year. See the below BMW 2002 FAQ link for pictures and videos. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,331504/ If you are interested in participating, send me your email address and I will add you to the broader communication list. Best Regards Peter (74Tii Malaga) peterodriques@hotmail.com

  17. Bill, Peter here, (aka P.E.R. on the FAQ). Scott is correct. Duncan Hsu owns the touring and its a nice story. Duncan's dad purchased the car in 1974 for the "family" and gave it to Duncan I believe around 1995 or so. The touring was in good shape however Duncan had the car restored in 1998/99 with the plan to pass it along to the next generation. Hope you enjoyed the pictures and videos. (thanks to Scott & Brendan) We have a good group up here in New England and hope we can connect with you sometime in the near future. Best Regards, Peter 74 Tii (Malaga) peterodriques@hotmail.com
  18. Roger, We are all for including a broader group the day before the BavAuto show & shine for meet/drive. There are a number of great coastal routes that could start right in Portsmouth NH with locations to park, connect and launch into a drive. Then the day of the show & shine, your idea of all the 02's meeting early to form a line would be great. Possibly have our own section if we get their early enough. Lets keep in touch over the winter and feel free to contact me anytime. Peter peterodriques@hotmail.com
  19. I installed the Ansa muffler on my 74Tii. Fits fine and just the right sound. Very easy to install. Peter in MA. 74 Tii (Malaga)
  20. Guibo looks rather relaxed today!! Nice pictures. I'll never tell.... -Peter 74 Tii (Malage
  21. Great. I'll give it try. Thanks for the recommendations.
  22. Hi All, I have a 74 tii (US) with the original Hella headlight buckets that housed my Sylvania 7" 2D1 headlights perfectly. I tried to install brand new 7" H4's and the 3 tabs do not line up with the slots on the bucket. I clipped the tabs off of the H4's and the H4 will fit in the bucket however very loosely even with the outer bracket screwed tight. Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks in advance, Peter
  23. Great thanks. What type of sealant to you recommend if needed?
