A big thank you for all the hard work that went into making the event such a success. It was nice to meet so many 02 enthusiasts and finally put a face to so many FAQ members. Hey Jesse, glad to hear we have another 02 in the ATX! There are a good number of us 02rs in the ATX area and have started getting together for an 02 Cars and Coffee once a month. Our next C&C will be Saturday, March 12th. We've had a pretty good turnout for the 2 we've had. Look forward to meeting you! I'll send you a pm so I can get your contact information. There are about 11 of us that text regularly.

Sounds like there is a group from the ATX that will be making the drive up on Friday afternoon. Not sure on the exact numbers as of now. I know Terry mentioned it at out ATX 02 Cars and Coffee yesterday. I believe he mentioned he may need a couple drivers so that he could take several of his cars up.

I spoke with Terry this morning at out ATX area 02 Cars and Coffee and he said that the BBQ tour sounded like a perfect idea. You can contact him when you get some details in place.

Third Saturday of each month---Cars and Coffee at Mozarts on Lake Austin. Once again 8AM to get the best parking spots---Last month we had 10 2002s in a row: BEAUTIFUL! March 12, Saturday. Cars and Coffee at Mozarts. A WEEK EARLY. March 13, Sunday. Car Show at the Oasis at Lake Travis March 19, Saturday. Plano, Texas---TEXAS Celebration of 100 Years of BMW and 50 Years of the 2002! Starts at 8am there so we will probably caravan from Austin the day before. More details coming soon. March 25-27, Friday to Sunday, Fredericksburg Texas. Our Spring 02berfest! Make hotel reservations now at the Peach Tree Inn. Answer the Survey Question below: Survey Question: For those of you participating in the Spring 02berfest, how many of you would be interested in participating in a Wine Country/Wineries Tour on Friday. We can hire a van and guide to take us from winery to winery on Friday. This allows sampling of wines without worry of driving effects. Non-drinkers like me are free to follow along in our 2002s and watch the results of the tour. Sound like fun? This would be in addition to our usual activities on Saturday and Sunday. Any out of towers who might like to fly into Austin for any of these events? We have plenty of loaner cars, 2002s and others. Give us a call. Hand sanded mine and then sprayed mine. I wasn't too sure how good a job I was going to be able to do and ended up exceeding my expectations.

Thanks Steve! It was exciting to have such a good turnout. More exciting to have more show up for our next outing. There's a good amount of sweet ATX 02s that weren't able to make yesterday's event.

Thought I'd share some pics from our ATX area get together yesterday morning. We had good turnout for our first ATX get together in a while. A total of 11 02s met up yesterday morning braving a cool 35 degrees when we met at 8am a Mozart's Coffee Roaster on Lake Austin Blvd. We had a 12 02 drive up from Houston that just missed us. A big thanks to Terry Sayther for getting the word out on our meet up. Just when I get thinking I've seen most of the 02s in the area a few more pop up. Got to see a few new ones yesterday and no that we'll have more show up in the coming months as we'll start meeting up once a month. Once we set the schedule maybe we can set something up with the Dallas and Houston 02rs. Maybe a meet up half way on a Saturday morning?

Just wanted to pass along that ATX 02rs will be getting together this coming Saturday, January 23rd at Mozart's Coffee Roasters. We'll be meeting at Mozart's at 8:00am when they open. March 25, 26, and 27 we will once again gather in Austin to drive to Fredericksburg for food, drives, stories, and, of course, 2002s! There will be more details later, but be sure to set aside the time now----you won't want to miss this one! A few of us ATX 02rs will be getting together for a cup of coffee next Saturday the 23rd.
