  1. seriously, have you considered, or are you able to make a pulley system to drop it from your balcony?(totally assuming you have one since your in SB!) otherwise i'm sure you could just slowly let it tumble down the stairs, their bullet proof....i'm sure it wouldnt break anything =c)
  2. im very curious as to how exactly BLUETOOTH is bad? added weight? really? i dont wanna sound like a jerk here but come on dude, i'm sure a bowling ball sitting in your back trunk adds more weight than an entire sound system adds....dont be so desperate for reasons to NOT have a stereo in your car
  3. its been awhile but i believe Hollister is atleast an 1.5 hour drive from east bay area.....? does anyone want to coordinate a place to meet up to caravan down to hollister togeter? if anyone is interested let me know!
  4. nonsense, i can have my windows down doing 80+(okay even 100+) with no issue of clarity....what speakers/amp did you get?
  5. that doesnt sound right, that may just be the block itself, but not with it complete and put togeter, if it was 180lbs i could pick it up myself, which i know i cannot do....i remember reading it was in the mid 400's
  6. i just recently spent about $4k on a stereo system for the 02, i'll post another reply with some pics of the custom work, i had all JL Audio put in with custom kick panels so i can return it to stock at any time, i did 6.5's up front, and 6x9's in the back, with their 4 channel amp under my passenger seat....i dont listen to the radio, so i dont have a headunit, just a simple wire that hooks right up to my blackberry so i can use it like an ipod......and just use an equalizer to adjust what i need the stereo company i used is one of the top stereo shops in the world,(its the place JL audio uses to install THEIR OWN equipment on their JL model cars) my car was not set up for a stereo, and never has had one installed, so they had to start from scratch. they made the mistake of hooking the power wire up to my horn wire, so when i honked, it made a JOLT through the speaker system, so they had to made a custom relay for it to work and not have any feedback/static in the speakers. all in all i am extremely impressed with it, the owner of walnut creek customs called up JL audio and told them they should do a small website project about my 02 cause of how incredible it sounds. it sounds super crisp and if you sat in my passenger you would be led to assume i had a 10'' JL sub in the trunk, i'm not exagerating. My 300zx's have all PRO SERIES boston acoustics with JL 10'' subs, along with my bmw x5 having 2 JL 12's, and i'm happiest with my 2002's sound system - Edit: here are the pics.... here is my equalizer in my center console, its also where the wire comes out to connect to my blackberry for listening to music 6x9's in the back driver side kick panel with 6.5's, plenty of room to use clutch and spot for front hood latch to move forward and back and passenger kick panel... my amp is under passenger seat fits perfect
  7. Well this was my first lil' event with the 02, there were TONS of people from the city there walking through the street. I must say, i have ALWAYS loved these cars, and have ALWAYS wanted one, but i never really realized how many OTHER people share the same feeling. Jeff and I had the only BMW's there, everything else was american classics, and our cars had a pretty constant crowd with peoples' jaws dropping, and it was fun hearing the little kids ask their parents what kind of car it was and saying how cool it looked. i barely got a minute to step away from my car because so many people had questions. all the pics i got were at the beginning of the show, i wasnt able to get any clear shots after more people got there cause too many in the way The mayor even stopped by with his friend who had a 75 2002 There was even this very elderly lady that you could tell german was still her first language, explaining to me she took her driving test(which i guess was on the autobahn she said) while driving an 02. Thanks Jeff for the invite, and you are a world of knowledge! I def learned alot about these cars for the short time we were there. I've always thought Jeff's car was just a simple white, but it actually has the faintest green tint to it, its really awesome. sorry for picture quality, they were taken from my BlackBerry Storm....enjoy! cool frontside pic of my 70 2002 Jeff's florida 67 1600 bimmers just getting set into position sexy rear end pic seeing Jeff's rims made me want to put my originals back on, though mine need alot of work to be up to par of his another side view Jeff's beautiful engine bay! Not sure if Jeff has ever posted pics of his interior, but ALSO pristine! thought this was a fun pic... awesome pic of Jeff's 1600 pic with the hoods up...one little kid mentioned he liked our cars best because the hoods looked like they were holding up shields Jeff next to his car anyhow hope you enjoyed the pics, kinda redundant, BUT it wouldnt have to be that way if more 02'ers show up for the next event! =c]
  8. i looked at this one when i was looking to purchase my first 02, its TOO molested and customized - in a tacky way, if you ask me. i got the current one in my signature for half the price, and is way cooler and almost equal condition.....
  9. are you wanting them in show condition? mine is in great condition just a tear in my front seat.... otherwise you can count me in
  10. sweet! i'll have to make it out to this one
  11. i'm considering it with mine, but i just cant picture it in my head how it would look like
  12. i'd buy those in a nano-second if they were black!
  13. Armand's price does NOT include the backrest pads, just the seat pads, so upholstery world is about 600 cheaper.....though he suggested i go online cause i could find them cheaper, and he would still do the work for the labor charge. THANKS for the link! now possibly there is an out of state store with similar pricing? hate to sound cheap but i'd prefer to work around the 90 bucks in tax i will have to pay from upholstery world. if not, its still a good price
  14. not if he wants to win the "who has the lowest stance" contest!
  15. When i asked if price could be lowered if a paid cash, his response was that he already gives his customers the absolute lowest price he can do, and that he wouldnt be able to lower it....so i assume he wouldnt match anyone else's price either
  16. do you mind me asking where you had your 69's work done at? and possible price range you paid? i'm new to the 02 world, and also know NOTHING about upholstery so this is a whole new world for me and i dont know what to be looking for.
  17. no i havent - its a farther drive and they need to look at the vehicle for a quote - i dont mind making the trip though, just armands was right down the street from me
  18. exactly - thats the price i would expect to pay for some super nice seats, but i'm trying to best to keep it original and would like to keep the stock look. if thats the case then i'll just go with some 320i seats or something...
  19. is this average? Armand's Upholstery(suggested by a forum member) here in walnut creek, (bay area) quoted me 1500 for parts, and 560 for labor...seems pretty narly for just 2 front seats to be redone...
  20. wow what a fun looking car
  21. uhg i'm new to the 02 world, and a few weeks ago i got the nozzle STUCK in the opening...i had crammed it so far and twisted it...it wouldnt come off!!! pulled and tugged for about 10 minutes, finally got it out...i was scared they were gonna have to start taking apart the car to get it out!!(they recently had to do that when someone got his finger stuck in it, they had to remove many parts to get it out lol)
  22. always love seeing a beautiful colorado orange 02 =c) BEAUTIFUL car
  23. there is a 2002 salvage/parts yard right in Berkeley, i will try to search for their info but they usually have an ad on craigslist for BMW parts, and they specialize in 02's 1600's ect....but they say they have any part you could need, and many many many cars on site
