    Purely cosmetic reason for the switch. Plus I decided I would rather run the OE tire size. The tires themselves were great. I liked then a lot more than the Sumitomo's I had previously.

    Set of four 185-70-13 Vredestein Quatrac II's. These tires have been mounted and driven less than 50 miles. I replaced them with Vredestein 165-80-13 Sprint +. Paid $340 and will sell for $200 firm. These tires are as close to new as you can get and not easily available. Prefer local pick up. Please email for photos.

    I have a set of four Vredestein QuaTrac 2's in 185-70-13 that have less than 50 miles. I bought them 2 weeks ago, mounted them and ended up trading them out for Vredestein Sprint +. I will post these for sale soon on FAQ.

    Set of four factory e21 sport alloys with new BMW center caps and new (less than 500 miles) Sumitomo tires. $500.     Did anyone purchase the Fred Snook BMW of Monterey license plate frame that was on eBay this week? I am looking for a vintage Nor Cal BMW dealer license plate frame for my car. I have documentation that my car was purchased from Leif Lindzen Motors in Berkeley, but the only frame I found was at 2002 AD and it was cracked in three areas and the chrome was badly pitted.

    Last weekend Jeff came up to OC from La Jolla with a box full of seals, new windshield, wipers, etc. Plus he found me a mint pair of early 02 seats which he happily installed. If anyone needs NOS and OE parts, Jeff is your guy.

    New oil/filter and the engine has been cleaned and degreased. Drove the car about 25 miles afterwards. A couple hours after I got home I checked the filter and it was loose. When I put the new filter on I hand tightened it and then turned it a 1/4 turn with the wrench. Is it common for filters to come loose

    Thanks everyone. I have a new mahle installed with new oil. Tomorrow I will begin the task of cleaning.

    Outside temp was probably 60. The car is in an insulated garage so this would have probably been the coolest. Plus the weather in So Cal is still relatively warm. Brand was Mahle with less than 500 miles since it was installed. Don't know the model number. RPM was around 2K at start. The car idles high and then when the electronic choke releases it settles to a normal idle. Any experience with degreaser? My engine and bay are a complete mess. Thanks for the help- John

    Started the car this morning to head out to cars and coffee. Got 1 block from my house and the oil filter blew out. Is this common?
