    Easiest solution is just save your 1600 for the times you don't need A/C to survive. A/C & 02's are..lets say.. "not the merriest of marriages" even in the best of times.

    I have an 81 (last year of the e12). Just grab an e12 haynes manual, and a bmp classic catalog and that should keep you going for awhile. Mines 213k and still does 100mph no problem. comfortable cars...and can't beat the Frua styling

    people driving other cars other than a BMW 2002, are exactly that, other drivers.. and should be seen as less! I have a hard time thinking of a easier car to drive, work on, and have fun in than an 02. I think people get jealous because they know your having more fun than they are.

    I've seen another car that used this technique and thought it was a brilliant way to use the rear fog, as it is so much brighter than the brake lights.

    does the car become more difficult to keep running the harder you press on the brakes? Had a VERY similar problem not long ago, was the brake booster going south..

    I ended up using some wire cutters (dikes) that resemble these, worked great when in a pinch for proper tools, didn't cut into the band at all.

    Well mission accomplished. Was a lot easier than I anticipated. Thankfully, the joint was not dirty at all and the grease looked better than the other side that was not torn. Did both ends, replaced bands, reinstalled. The kits that come with the boot-grease-bands made things easy to get set-up. Best part no funny noises, or vibration when driving at all speeds after the fix.

    I wonder if the nuts were left lose for some span of time knocking about in the holes. Might take welding a high quality large area washer or something in the original hole position to fix properly. At the same time if you have the suspension risers installed on top and there is no movement it may not be hurting anything.

    I believe I caught this one early, but I will be checking it very carefully from the advice given above. The boot has a latitudinal tear like something I drove over tore it open, not the splitting you see around the flex channels.

    e30 wheels are a popular choice on 02's. Just use the +1/-1 rule when selecting tires and they work well. Since e30 wheels are 14, subtract an inch from tire diameter. There is some possibility if you run stock 2002 suspension, the e30 bottlecaps may chafe the wheel wells a bit in aggressive tight turns on the 02. I sure someone will chime in with more precise makes and sizes..I have a set of e30 bottlecaps that were on a friends 02 and they are P195/60R14 Dunlops but I still prefer the narrower stock 13's, but yes finding 13 tire sizes can be a PITA.

    tooling up for a mid-morning project tomorrow any tricks/tips/special tools? So far I am armed with the Haynes manual and the boots/grease..this will be my first.

    nice bumpers on a nice looking car congrats. Been fighting the urge to buy a 68 project on ebay right now..please someone beat me to it... please! thankfully its price is a little on the high side..
