    I was never too keen on the flashing of headlights since it's pretty much the universal way of telling fellow motorists to 'Slow down. There's a cop ahead!' After having had the wind taken out of my '02 sails on too many occasions, I've since become a waver. I'd much rather say 'hello' by waving than to send mixed messages with the headlights.

    Good points brought up by the both of you. While the creators of each piece may have had the best of intentions, it's pretty obvious that neither one knows what they're talking / writing about. If they did, they might have put a little effort into providing some clarification. If you know what you're taking about, it's not that difficult to write as if nobody knows what you're talking about. You know what I'm talking about?

    It's true. According to these two wonderfully crafted blog posts, the 2002s and the E21s were capable of time travel. I knew that they were great cars, but I had no idea that they were capable of such feats. The first article says.. "The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons, not the least of which it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1950s and put BMW as a marque on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976." http://tinyurl.com/3jx2j64 The second article says.. "The timing of the BMW 2002 was perfect; The company needed something to replace the larger aging 3 Series sedans." http://tinyurl.com/3q9zjdt If all of this was possible over 30 years ago, I can only imagine what the newer BMWs are capable of.

    Thanks for all of the pics, and for the narrative posting, Anders It's one thing to see a bunch of pics, but to be given a good description of what we're looking at is extra nice.     That's correct. Three out of four of them are pictured in the photo album. The only one that we haven't got a picture of is the brown 6 cylinder version that was previously owned by Hubert Hahne. We do have confirmation that it's still on the road though. It's important to be mindful of the fact that the car that's pictured in the last four images in the photo album isn't actually one of the 12 Dianas. It's a Japanese replica / tribute.

    Slightly OT, but if you're going to a pick-n-pull for your mirror, grab yourself a set of E30 sun visors (and clips) while you're at it. They fit perfectly in an '02.
