  4. well it depends on what you call soon we'll be in france in mid/late may if that works and we'd be happy to bring the goods if you have to wait that long.
  5. i'm not doubting your advice its just when you look at the stopper/latch you'd think they'd be oriented 180* from what they are. greg's '73 has it oriented like your pic
  6. well that is the confusing part if you look at the latch, its curved. it appears that its intended to mate with the curved part of the stopper, but with the stopper oriented down, it mates woth the flat surface of the stopper
  7. its the same piece on non-tii's and tii's here is a way to check on either max's site or real oem they have a part number search grab the p/n, do a search and it will show all the applications for that part
  8. item 17 that attachesto the rectangular piece that sticks down from piece 15, center of the hood does the rounded side orient up (towards the hood) or down (towards the motor)?
  9. i just got a quote from Grundy for the tii, stated value $30k, $228/yr no mileage limit
  10. i wouldn't buy a newer BMW without the CPO warranty i took me 6 months to find the 328xi 6spd i bought in the right color combo i was looking for BMW's website has a good search for used inventory accross the USA, but they are all CPO
  11. will they fit without the rubber perches? you can use vinyl tubing on the coils in place of the perch edit: the vinyl tube approach is used by many, but i just looked at some perches in my garage and the diameter of the mounting "circle" on the perch is the same as the hard platform "circle" the perch sits on. sounds like the wrong springs perhaps.
  12. re the beltline trim, the ends are held in with nuts that screw onto a stud. you can see them on the underside of the hood, etc. the rest of the strip is a push on type of fastener. it allows you to gently pry the strip off and push back on. you should be able to remove the strips without damaging them.
  13. the bracket is the dust shield that bolts up to the bell housing next to the oil pan. the shield reaches all the way up to the slave cylinder location and has a cut out that mates with the tab on the outside of the washer located on the slave cylinder. you have to install the slave cylinder from the front so the tabb'ed washer will reside on the front side of the bell housing also. all that being said, i'm not sure why it matters a lot if the cylinder rotates a little. the high pressure line between the slave and master will prevent it from rotating much.
  14. there is supposed to be a washer with a tab on the outside and inside that lines up with the slot on the cylinder and a slot in the dust shield on the front of the bell housing. pretty easy to understand if you have the washer. the washer is located between the circlip and the bellhousing
  15. don't you have property set back laws in quebec?
  16. thanks for the laugh Pat hey esty - how's the train wreck now?
  17. +1 datsun 510's can have all the same mods as a 2002 and back in their day they kicked ass on the reacetrack
  18. the left chair is a driver's model, the other a passenger model of the same seat
  19. thanks for the pic (yes, its me) and back at you you ever try a product called aero-brite? a friend that owns/flies a turbo prop swears by this stuff, says it gets the turbo exhaust out of the paint without harming the paint. i'm going to try it on my wheels. http://www.enviro-britesolutions.com/products/specialty.html
  20. you have sharp eyes speed man
  21. busted you are correct and you're busted for the poser, troll, troublemaker and all around asshole you are. and apparently i am not alone in my opinions. i'll file you under AH and let it go PS - the board is waiting for you to answer the question about head bolts (technically they're not bolts at all but you already know that too, right?)
  22. new poster here, long long time reader of the faq hey JhC, i think gwb has it spot on you're a troll and you can prove me wrong at least by answering the last question gwb asked you, and i'll never bother you again please tell the board why do head bolts weaken over time in a 2002 as you said they do? your quotes "Wonder if all those bolts you used had been used before, torqued correctly, exposed to overheating, etc." "Not worth much because you ALWAYS REPLACE HEAD & MAIN BOLTS you dolt." and why do you, as gwb said, follow him on every post he makes?
