Sorry to all the kittens - 1976 spring question

So I have a bone stock '76 that I'm sinking money into. I already have Billy HD's on my shelf and I'm thinking that if I'm going to the effort of putting them on the car maybe I should think about springs and bars as well. However, I have heard that the 1976 2002's have taller springs. Is that true? Does that mean that I have to do something different with a '76?

Anyway, I am looking at what appears, from my searching this site, to be the usual 3 street springs - H&R, I.E. stage 1's, and Eibachs. Is there any argument for one brand over the other with my year car? I am looking to end up with an (almost) daily driver that handles better but without being too high, too low, or too harsh a ride.

Later I will ask my anti-sway bar questions ;-), thanks in advance for any ideas/opinions.

earlier cars due to Federal bumper height requirements that began with the '73 model year. I confirmed that by comparing the OEM springs from my 73 with those on my '69--about an inch difference unloaded.

I currently have H&Rs, Bilstein HDs and 19mm sway bars front and rear and they do well on the street. I really should have a larger front bar, but these were a good buy and I'm...uh...thrifty (yeah, that's it!). I also have A/C, and some larger bars won't clear the A/C compressor pulley. To soften the rear a bit I have rubber sway bar bushings back there, and urethane in the front (I like a bit of trailing throttle oversteer).

The shorter springs cause no problems on the street, and make even 13 inch tires fill the wheel well better. Doesn't look like the car's on tippytoes.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
