Brake upgrade!

In an effort to save money I've been slowly piecing my big brake kit together as I can afford or atleast thats the plan. My wife wont let me buy anything yet because we have spent money on other things that are more important like rent and feeding the child. Anyway it seems a little difficult to get the 1977 front vented rotors. Stores dont seem to have them in stock. I did find that tire rack has them and they seem to be the cheapest so far. They are brembo's and I will prolly order them today. Has anyone else done the same thing?

That's pretty much the way I did it and I'm sure many others. I got the rotors from Max or Bavarian, the rebuilt volvo calipers came from the cheapest place I could find on-line, the front hubs came off a junker e21. etc

and if you really want to piss your wife off,

after you install your heavier, used brake parts, instead

of feeding your family, and - the caliper pistons stick,

the brakes pull, the rotor thickness's are different. . . . .

then imagine ordering all the excellent Original BMW 2002

light-weight, excellent stopping parts,

sitting in your empty house - because 'they' have gone to live

at less insane digs.

I actually had better luck with the Balos than the Brembos,

but that was with Hawk HT-10's. Plus, they're a bit cheaper.

The Brembos cracked,

the Balos did not.

Might have been the softer metal?
