  1. Does anyone know where I can get some replacement lenses and seals for a set of euro turn signals? I've got one clear and one amber lense and would like them to match. Or Im open to trades.
  2. Does anyone have some uncut black door panels they would like to sell in the bay area? Im not interested in waiting for them to be shipped Id rather pick them up. I live in San Francisco but my car runs good so let me know. Weekends are best so maybe today we can do this thing.
  3. I'd powder coat them. I use the sears powder coat system and love it. Found an old 220v oven for free on craigslist and can now coat wheels and anything else that fits in there. Works better then most might think.
  4. I got a set of stainless braided dot approved brake lines, a new fan blade, and new belts. Just told her where to go and the guy at the counter talked her into all of it. Exactly the parts I was going to buy for this weekend anyway. Sweet.......I love my wife.
  5. Oh I've powder coated the clasp on my cats collar. Hes rollin in style with flat black clasp and red collar. Its kinda the hotrod ratrod look. I wonder if I can die flames in his fur.
  6. If I had a camera I'd take pictures. Mine fell in the toilet. Dont even ask how that happened. Anyway at sears they sell a powder coating kit that doesnt require an air compresser. So at $100 I tried it out. Its really easy to use and the finish is just like the pros. I've been powder coating any little part I find in my own garage that fits into an old toaster oven I found on the side of the road. If I had a 220 outlet Id find an old houshold oven and start doing rims and anything else that fit inside. You bake the part at 450 until the powder flows out then drop the temp to 400 and give it another 20 minutes or so. When its cool install it. Easy and simple. Maybe you guys already know but this new found madness is exciting me and Im looking for anything and every thing to coat that can withstand the heat.
  7. I need a mirror when I can get pulled over because I dont have it. Would like to avoid being pulled over.
  8. I need this asap. I took mine apart to powder coat it but cracked the glass. I need a new mirror in time for the "not the 49 mile ralley race" in san francisco. If you wont sell it can I barrow it for a day. I can powder coat something small in return. The race is Saturday the 13th. Please help! Call me if your in San Francisco pat 415-385-6247
  9. I need both front left and right fenders. Rust free or close to it. Hopefully painted Sahara. Im in the Bay area San Francisco. The car is a 1976. Would love to buy these tomorrow or Sunday the 16th. If the trim holes are filled thats even better. Call Pat 415-385-6247.
  10. Does anyone make side skirts? I've seen a few cars with a pretty cool look to the rocker trim. Are they completely custom or where they taken and modefied from another car? I can recall two cars I've seen recently one is an INKA with side skirts or ground effects and another yellow car in the bay area that is forsale with a good looking ground effect.
  11. Yesterday I spent most of my day trying to install my pertronix i just got. In my 76 02 with blue coil. I also opted to change the wires cap, plugs and rotor at the same time. Car started just fine and ran pretty good when I got the timing right at idle. Then when I tried to drive it it had no power, and backfired a lot so I spent more time trying to dial in the timing to no avail because I didnt have much time. So I decided to pull all of it back out and reinstall all the old stuff including points. Now the car has no spark. I feel like a jackass because everything is hooked up exactly like it was and distributor is in the same spot as og. But no spark. I dont get it. Im not even sure what else to look for because I've spent countless hours on this trying to just get it running again. I need my car for work tomorrow. Any suggestions from new ideas?
  12. Right on welcome. Im new to this myself but making it more difficult for me Im doing this on a very low budget. Are you in San Francisco?
  13. Please keep in mind its a car that I got for free. Motor runs good, brakes are good. Wireing is good. Fenders are trash from rust and dents glass is scratched and I think a dog lived in the car for a few years and ate most of the seats. I've built rat rod VW's for years preserving the patina if you will. Now I have a purfect car to paint black with a red stripe.
  14. jcorea has a good rear seat. He may ship to you contact him. Part listed under forsale section.
  15. I need both front fenders in the bay area to avoid shipping. Surface rust ok but Im replacing because of rust. What you got?
  16. I need some generic stock looking wheels that will fit with correct offset on a 76 02 that isnt lowered, I dont have any flares or mods at all but I want some 15s. Possibly some that require a hub cap. Hubcap not needed. Is there any other car I can get them from? Toyota, honda, acura? I want to paint them red roll them with my white wall tires on a flat black car. Im sure its been done but I like the look. Any suggestions? Oh yeah preferably something lite. Am I asking too much?
  17. well I only use one email address and the server wont let me create a new name under that address.
  18. Is there anyway to change the screen name? I would rather be called Pat or Patrick or something more me then Im the new kid on the block. I screwed up when I signed up and didnt read the sticky saying use your real name.
  19. Why does it have to be the e30 cable? I just dont understand why I can't put my own cable together. People say it all the time that there can be only one option but never can explain why. Im fully confident in my wireing abilities from 15 years of car audio and alarm installation, but if for some reason I must get an e30 cable then please tell me why to save a lot of hassle and effort.
  20. I think what I will do to be sure is use the four gauge to replace alternator cable and a few others and find a one ott cable to route through the car. I was just curious about the 4 gauge. Thanks for the replys.
  21. What gauge cable is the typical battery relocation? I've got 4 gauge monster cable that has never been used. Am I seriously looking at creating a fire hazard or creating other potential problems when using 4 gauge to put my battery in the trunk? Do I need to use one aught?
  22. Jerry sorry I was a flake, but would love to reschedule this thing. Im a damn good cook and Im ready to hang with people who can get excited about the little things I've done. Help someone with wiring or cook some food. Anytime your doing this again I'll meet you there with some meat and a wrench. That goes for anyone else also who's down for this sort of thing, just tell me where on a weekend and Im on my way.
  23. I did a little research and it looks like a good way to go. I think Ill try it and let anyone and everyone know if its worth it. Im driving a 76 2002 that cost me 300 so why not. I love this car but I hate the trim that seems to be rusting my poor car away so its gotta go. However if you have already tried this and it sucks let me know in the next day or so, so I dont buy a stud welder.
  24. Is it possible? Has anyone done it? Can I use a stud welder to fill trim holes? I figure its low heat and easy to use, my brother is busy so he cant weld on my car right now. I dont have any welding experience could I use a stud welder to fill the trim holes on my car? I mean the stud welders normally used for pulling dents in body work. Its either that or I need to find someone in San Francisco who wants to fill some holes for me in trade for close to the best meal you have ever eaten.
  25. In an effort to save money I've been slowly piecing my big brake kit together as I can afford or atleast thats the plan. My wife wont let me buy anything yet because we have spent money on other things that are more important like rent and feeding the child. Anyway it seems a little difficult to get the 1977 front vented rotors. Stores dont seem to have them in stock. I did find that tire rack has them and they seem to be the cheapest so far. They are brembo's and I will prolly order them today. Has anyone else done the same thing?
