Radiator Shroud - Any Real Value?

Cruising the 2002 web sites, I bumbed into this '02 radiator shroud (see below) which I've never seen before. Is this part of any real operational value or just for sale for OE effect? Thanks.

I believe they were standard in 75. Mine was missing and I installed a new one. No noticeable difference.

Standard on 75-76, very helpfull in hot summers. It provides more pull of air through the rad esspecially when stopped in traffic.

shroud ?- YUP - it's the real deal - get one today

It's what Beaner said. The shroud makes your cooling more effective, especially when stopped. Driving down the road it's no big deal. But, do you want to overheat when you get into a traffic jam? I'd rather have one on.

strictly on the engine driven fan for cooling - if you have a themostaticly controlled pusher fan in front of the radiator, you probably won't notice much difference.
