Standard on 75-76, very helpfull in hot summers. It provides more pull of air through the rad esspecially when stopped in traffic.

It's what Beaner said. The shroud makes your cooling more effective, especially when stopped. Driving down the road it's no big deal. But, do you want to overheat when you get into a traffic jam? I'd rather have one on.

strictly on the engine driven fan for cooling - if you have a themostaticly controlled pusher fan in front of the radiator, you probably won't notice much difference.
