Hello everybody,

Just joint the forum and wanted to know how desirable a 72’ automatic is for resale value? Any help would be great. I am planning on selling it soon and wanted to find out if it would be better to put a 4 speed in it. Thanks.

Are you trying to turn a profit? What's your goal? Many people like them upgraded from an auto. trans. to a 5-speed from an E21.

Sorry not much of vw guy. I bought the car with a bad engine and just wanted to know if it was worth pulling the trany while the engine was out. Please don’t get the wrong impression.

It is easier to pull them together with the right tools (you will need a coupla floor jacks and some stands). You have a coupla options (at least): I have seen units dropped from beneath the car and I've seen them pulled from above. So, the short answer would be yes.
