This was running (believe it or not...) on my car. Looks like I found at least part of the problem! the #2 ehaust valve seat is a mess, an absolute mess. Probably had no compression. the good news is there is a 121ti head almost ready to go that is in excellent condition, you can see it on the bench behind the bad one.

The bore looks good, no scoring, no lip at the top and no signs of wear beyond some carbon build up. think I'll leave it alone for now and just get it back together and drive it.

The earlier 121 heads (perhaps all, not sure...) had smaller valves, the 121ti head had larger valves to help with the dual carb setup allowing more flow. I'm not sure if later 121 heads were all fitted with larger valves or not. I need to do a side-by-side comparison of the 2 heads on my bench, one a straight 121, (cast in '83 though...) one a 121ti (cast in '69)

I'll post what I find.
