Moving to LA- Help!

Hey Everybody,

I'm a new member. Love your site!

I'm making the move to LA in Feb and will need a car. I have my heart set on an '02... of course. I will keep looking at the classifieds here. Do you guys have a mechanic that you recommend in LA? I don't know anyone except exotic dancers with no automotive skils. But I'm a good person I tend to overlook that flaw with them. My flaws are, I'm not a mechanic or exotic dancer.

Welcome to the FAQ and 2002's in general. There are lots of 02's for sale in Calif. and lots of parts too. If you buy a 76, you have to have it smogged in Calif. Buy an earlier one -- no need to smog it. Prices for 02's are better on the west coast due to the large numbers surviving there. Here in Ohio, the ones that are for sale are usually $500 or less -- needing major help -- incl. rust repair and paint. Out there, lots of very presentable cars are available. L.A., San Diego, & San Francisco, espec. have lots of 02's. Good luck.

Bring the exotic dancers with you and maybe they could get you a better price on a 2002.
