sealing fuel pump

do you typically use some sealant on these gaskets? both of them or just the gasket between the insulating block and the engine block? If so, what kind of gasket sealant is your favorite?

also I notice some special insulating washers under the fuel pump nuts ... do those typically need replacing?

I want to have everything I need before I take the pump off...

thanks!

...just a LIGHT smear of your favorite sauce to 'seal' the paper before mounting the gasket block and pump.

YES - there are very important plastic bushings with flared seat for the nut & washer . ALWAYS renew these $0.05 bushings when the pump in removed.

use a flat washer and Ny-Lock nuts . Using a standard nut and lock washer does not hold long term. Using OLD nuts and OLDER or no washer at all will leave you on the side of the road with yer thumb out.

p.s. - install NEW gas hoses at the same time

Just to have another go at C.D. why would you use a new gasket and then sealant?

You also did not say use bmw sealant, are you just forgetfull today?

One more point, for a person that is very pedantic about BMW original parts, when did BMW use Weber as standard issue?
