have any of you fixed the mechanism that holds your front doors open? if so, please explain how you did it and where you purchased the parts if needed. thank you.

Hello 76 bimmer: What you need is new doorbrakes. I got mine from Bimmerparts for $79.00 ea. I had a BMW specialist shop put mine in and I am very pleased. They are the new-style doorbrakes which are apparently more sturdy and modelled after the later 3-series doorbrakes. It is nice to get rid of the floppy door syndrome IMO. Just one of those little fixes that will make you smile once it's done....

Blunt has/had them. I bought a pair this winter, and I think they were a little less than that for FAQ'ers

Bought a set from Autohaus in Arizona. They work great and are far superior to the original design. Genuine also. A few bucks less than Bimmerparts and they offer free shipping with purchases over $50.00.

i have a few pairs left if you like. they are the new style and they are 145.91 shipped in the usa. i dont think you can find them cheaper. or at least i havent been able to

edit....... i just checked autohausaz and they are indeed cheaper there. they are 145.40 for a pair and i believe they ship free for orders over 50 lootcakes.

i will match that price and offer you a personalized drawing on the inside of your box. autohaus wont do that
