Amazing. Keep up the good work! You're doing a fabulous job and you're a great inspiration to the project that I'm starting this winter.

What are you using for seat mounts? Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't had the luxury of looking at a stripped out 02 yet. Do the seat brackets bolt into the floor? Is there a frame member there to securely bolt into?

seat mounts....

well if you study my painting pictures you can get a good look at the seat floor area.

I drilled out the spot welds of the original seatmount sheet metal..... them welded in some tubing across the rockers to the trans. tunnel. So it's custom. If you choose to mount racing seats to the stock location the seats sits too high.

As for the rest of the mount (the side plates..) On the drivers seat I'm using Momo side mount steel brakets. For the passenger side I just made a sideplate. It's just essentially a L shaped peice of metal...

it's given me inspiration and ideas.....

I figure my site might just help out some other people crazy enough to ge into a car project.....

Well, Pedro, I'd say after spending ~2 hours on your site, I'm THOROUGHLY INSPIRED!! I know I can do all of my bodywork myself now. You've done a fantastic job on your race car! I'd love to see your car in person to mooch off of your details...

I found a great deal on the VARA message boards!

nice open single axle with electric brakes, brand new rims and tires and a emergencia breakaway thingie....all for $700 !!

I'm one happy camper!!!

now I'm ready to hit the track!

armed with my welder trailer modifications are on the way!
