A little bit every weekend.....

I wired up the dash and all the gauges back

and made myself a dead pedal !

made templates out of poster board cut them with the pnumatic shears and rivited them in place......

made a better accusump valve mount this weekend. Well better than the zip ties that I was using before....

took me 30 mins to fab up........and it shows!

not very pretty but functional.....

I had to do some modifications to the seat mount to mount the passenger seat in.......

it's starting to look like a race car!!!!

Amazing. Keep up the good work! You're doing a fabulous job and you're a great inspiration to the project that I'm starting this winter.

What are you using for seat mounts? Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't had the luxury of looking at a stripped out 02 yet. Do the seat brackets bolt into the floor? Is there a frame member there to securely bolt into?

seat mounts....

well if you study my painting pictures you can get a good look at the seat floor area.

I drilled out the spot welds of the original seatmount sheet metal..... them welded in some tubing across the rockers to the trans. tunnel. So it's custom. If you choose to mount racing seats to the stock location the seats sits too high.

As for the rest of the mount (the side plates..) On the drivers seat I'm using Momo side mount steel brakets. For the passenger side I just made a sideplate. It's just essentially a L shaped peice of metal...

Seats too high is a concern for me since I'm 6'4".

6'4, yeah then you have to remove the stock mounts and mount the seats as low as possible....especially if you have a cage in it.....

with a helmet even with a headliner in the car you probably have clearence issues....

I am attempting to make my project a bit of a race car but Still able to be a DD if I wanted it to. So Carpet and small things like that but I am loving alot of the ideas I am seeing!

Yeah if I can do anybody can....

just sand, sand , sand , sand, sand, sand........

then some color sanding then buffing!

I found a great deal on the VARA message boards!

nice open single axle with electric brakes, brand new rims and tires and a emergencia breakaway thingie....all for $700 !!

I'm one happy camper!!!

now I'm ready to hit the track!

armed with my welder trailer modifications are on the way!
