Concept art of my '74 project

I'm getting close to the end of my project, I should be back on the road in the spring.  I'm still working through the interior finishes, but everything mechanical and electrical is up and running already.  I thought I'd share some of the concept art that I generated along the way.  Almost everything was modeled, rendered, and heavily pondered before it hit my real world car.  There have been innumerable iterations, but what you see below is how the car will look once I'm finished (aside from that roof rack, I'm no surfer).  It's been incredibly helpful and I've had a lot of fun doing these.

+1 Very, very cool!  You're obviously busy building the car, but when you are done*, it would be cool to see a brief BTS of how you created these.  ;)

*Our cars (at least for many of us) are never truly "done".

Very cool rendering!

I vote for the Alpina spoke wheels.

Thanks for saying.😁

And both wheel sets are in the garage with miles on them already. The Alpinas have all seasons, the Works have UHP summer tires, so they share time. Same with the front bumper/fog light situation.

Thanks man. These are Sketchup models rendered in VRay. Perhaps not the best tool for the job, but it’s what I use for work so it’s what I know best.  The rainy road scene is a HDR background plate with the car inserted, all the others are fully modeled environments. I get scenes stuck in my head and it itches my brain until I actually have time to build it out and render it.  It’s also a great place to learn new things and advance my skills. When I’m on the clock, there isn’t usually much time for exploration.

And yeah, “done” is a relative term. 😂

Not a 2002, but I still have to post this here because it makes me smile.  The movie nerd in me really enjoyed working on this one.  Turns out I don't get to texture map T-Rexs in my normal work.😂

Bonus points for anybody that can identify the car.  Future project dream of mine.

Vaz 2101 wagon?

Good eye. Vaz 2102, or Lada 1200 Combi. Their naming conventions were all over the place. Or really, it could be a Fiat 124. But I want a Lada wagon to hot rod. Importing a Lada seems smart, right?
