Recored Rad

Recommended Posts

This radiator was among the literal junk in the trunk when I bought the car. No idea if it was original but after a pressure test it leaked like a sprinkler. I wanted it back to use. Recored at a local rad shop which I believe is unfortunately a dying trade for automotive. The shop I took it to primarily only works on Catepillar rads as big as my car. Cost me $360 to recore and they did a fantastic job. New from W&N was looking like $500+. Consider recording over buying new of you can. Also I need a cap. Anyone got a spare ;)

Did you go with 2 core (std)   or upgrade to a 3 core?        2 years ago that would have probably only cost you a couple of hundred     My local rad guy told me that the spool of solder went from 115.00 to 380.00 in a matter of a year

Thanks, Rick

Joe, do you know/remember the part number for that 3 row core the shop installed?  It used to be a RADAC 26, but dunno what the number is now.
