WTB: Italian Market 2002 Wheels (Or Period Italian Wheels)

FAQers,

After getting scammed by Frank of Powder Wheels overseas (bought numerous sets from him but he went dark after my most recent purchase a few years back). Now,  I am in need of a set for my 2002tii. I am open to any factory option Italian wheel or period correct Italian made wheels - ideally something that would have been around in April of 1971 if I can be that picky.

Ideally, the set will be restored as close as possible to its factory form or in great condition so they're bolt on ready.

Send me some pics of what you have to my email if you would be so kind - ryanmack11@gmail.com

Located in Monterey, CA.

I would be interested in a set of 4/71 stamped steelies as well, from a ti/ tii. Actually, any set of roundie 4/71 steelies I would consider. Thank you!

Ryan

The 4 1/2” rims that were standard on all round taillight ‘02’s other than 2002ti’s and 2002tii’s, will fit over the rear brake drums of your tii, but will not fit over the front calipers.

Regards,

Steve

Thanks for the reminder. I was thinking I would widen a set but if there are clearance issues I'll just keep waiting for the correct set to come along.

I should add, Ryan, that one forum member was able to grind away part of the center disk of a 4 1/2” steel rim — and perhaps a bit of the caliper — and make a 4 1/2” rim fit over a tii caliper. But you would need an initial “fitting project” before you even get to the “widening project”.

Best regards,

Steve

Picked up a set of Borrani Alpina steelies today, thanks, Jan. Might have thrown my back out offloading these things - surprised by how much heavier they are than an alloy wheel/ tire!

Will still consider a set of Italian, period-correct alloys so I have some options down the line.

Congrats, Ryan!

Yeah, the example I weighed (of a 5.5” version) tipped the scales at a road-hugging 15.4 lbs.! ?

But they’re so damn good looking on an ‘02… ?

Best regards,

Steve
