OK to cap coolant port on rear intake side of block?

With it's hex shape, it'll be way easier to get out than the heater port on the back of the head, which has a "reducer", #5 with a narrow smooth, no hex perimeter.  Right next to the soft aluminumness of the head. 

 

And, for the record, BMW calls it a "connector", avoiding all that non-car talk!

The fiber washer will make the seal worse than without it- they call the sealing washers "crush washers" because a proper seal requires some squishing of the washer.  Also a good reason not to re-use them- a good seal the second time isn't always possible.  Others will no doubt have more knowledge about this topic, including when to use copper and when to use aluminium crush washers.
