LSeat - Re-cover

Juuuust out of interest, has anyone used LSeat? Semi-tempted as it seems an 'easy' option for a quick way to re-cover the seats. If you have, is the quality and fit any good, or should this be an avoid scenario and just get it done 'properly'?

Link here!

Cheers,

Why yes I have. Buy it right the first time, don;t expect customer service but they did make it right. It's not a recover, that implies the old is still there, it's more than likely a reupholster. I don;t have a steamer but the wrinkles came out with time in the sun for a few weeks and it's wearing fine.

Pretty basic, stretch and hogring. Look for the other post I made with pics of the process. I reupholstered the Miata seats in the 2002 with a vinyl kit. For the price difference it's worth it to me. If you're a purist or demand perfection take it somewhere. If you prefer diy and learning a new process try it out.

I have been tempted to try them out to replace the front seats on my e24 where the stitching has split out and the leather is torn. They are about 1/3 of the cost of replacements from other sources.

They did make it right when I go the wrong thing for my Jeep (nonairbag vs airbag versions) and I had to send in my old upholstery for them to make the patterns off of since they didn't have the more rare '12 airbag pattern, so ultimately I had a fairly complex order.

If you can work hogring pliers, you can do it. I think I got Harbor freight ones and I bought a half pound bag of hogrings from a local upholstery shop for a few bucks. Still have the bag after 3 projects.
(I'm not a salesman for them, they are definitely a lower level of service but the product I got works fine for the only price I wanted to afford)

They were very quick to reply to me today, just very short- which is fine.  I just wish people would take a second to actually read the email and answer all the questions instead of just the first.  Seems to happen everywhere.

I'll probably end up ordering a cover for the LS-C I have sitting here- I just need to find something to use as bolster padding as they are apparently not available...

Dave.

'76, totally stock. Completely.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
