rear trailing arm bushing insertion direction

Hi,

I'm restoring my 2002tii. I took the rear suspension apart many years ago. I am finally getting to putting it back together. I am ready to press the new rear trailing arm bushings into the trailing arms (I'm using stock bushings) and want to know from which direction you press them in? I think they get pressed from the wheel side but need to make sure. The bushings have stop that makes them need to be pressed from one side or the other.  I just need to know how they are oriented (both bushings please.)

thanks for the help

Mike

Here's my story,

I bought a Colorado 1973tii that was in Massachusetts back in 1999 and had it shipped to Detroit (where I was working for an automotive manufacturer at the time.) The car was original except it had been painted silver and hadn't run for about 10 years. I sorted the car, got it running and then took it apart for a complete restoration. So by 2002, I have decided I don't want to be a powertrain engineer anymore, and I quit and go to dental school @ 29 years old. Car goes into storage in my friend's barn (as a rolling shell and boxes of parts in Aug 2002.) So dental school, orthodontic residency, a new (old) house, a new business, 2 kids and then its 2017, and the car hasn't been touched in 15 years.  I decide that I want to do it right and get going. So I contract to have the metal work and paint done by a restoration shop, the trans (5speed) and motor are in Kansas City with Jim Rowe at Metric Mechanic for a build (165hp thank you!)

The metal work is done, and I am doing the suspension now, and the car will be painted next month. Then it comes back to me for assembly and finishing. I am doing the full assembly and restoration of all the other parts but the body.  Its been pricey, but I am doing it right.

I live in Media, PA - outside of Philadelphia. Hope to finish by the end of the year or spring next

I will share some pictures.

that's cool! Roundie Colorado tii...?..I had one once upon a time...and I still yearn for those days....

Metric Mechanic motor and 5 speed! Sir your in heaven!

Are you going back to Colorado color wise? Hope so as alot will agree it's one of THE colors. I personally hate 'resprays'..most I've seen have been done poorly and it fks' up your cars DNA

165 hp...So no more fuel injection?

How much does a crown cost at your office?

How many implants have you done?

Do patients have the option of 'gas'?

Are your office girls hot?

Do I get a toy on the way out?

I'm nosy too but not as much as Mint'

ok then. I like those options. Springs?

..maybe you can post a pic of that leather 'glove' shade? I've seen many baseball gloves that are pretty dark ( I coach my niece's girls softball team which obviously  makes me a total expert on leather color)

You didn't know we were going to be this nosy did you?

nice patch.

got it on a 'spinner' and everthing...your in deep!

Ive been through all the suspension wars...and after so many 'stiff' 02's I realized

i want to stay close to stock to 'daily' my latest tii during the

summer months>

1 coil cut stock springs, 13" Chromadora wheels w/Pirelli CN36 V rated tires, IE strut bar and IE 22mm sway bars. That's the entirety of my 'handling' package. No small steering wheel either. I grew weary of wresting these cars around town a long time ago (and so did my GF..hates the stiff ride)
