With some sadness I just sold my 73tii after having her since 94. The last several years she was only driven 2 - 400 miles annually, I kinda lost the enthusiasm

for her. This is a great site, have learned a lot and met some great people here.

I will continue to lurk, however...

well, congratulations... I guess.  Selling stuff is kinda hard.

I am guessing that you had your car pretty well sorted, after over twenty years of ownership.

Now you need to find a needy car and start all over again.

I think most of the fun is in making them better and then appreciating the recent improvements.

If you were to buy another '02, what model, year, color would you be most excited about?

I am just curious, is there a different make/model that currently has your attention?

I mean, what will you do to satisfy your car habit??

(feel free to ignore me, if you are already in lurker-mode)

I lost my passion for sailing after 35 years of having a sailboat.   I lost my wife....my son grew up....and I went into a funk.  It is a normal part of life to loose a passion and to gain new ones.

Good Luck..

i raced sailboats for 35years, but always had a car sideline.  car sideline overtook the sailing 17years ago.  sailing passion in remission, but i know it will come back.  also always had a motorcycle sideline..it is catching up with the car passion.  luckily they can coexist.....racing sailboats and cars occupied the same weekends and checkbook...didn't work!

Good questions, Tom. My tii was IMO gorgeous - was on BaT until last Wed, did not reach my reserve but I had more than several people contact me including one that checked it out prior to auction's end (I did not divulge my reserve) and it did NOT reach my reserve, but this individual did gave me my reserve (had 3 people in the wnigs waving the same amount).. That said, the day after I sold her a buddy said he knows of 2 round taillights behind a house in the weeds and I said let's buy em! (probably won't happen - too good to be true) I would love to have a straight bodied old 02 that I can just cruise around and not really worry about it. One that I can drive when it's raining... I've had a true beauty (will miss her) but would love to have an old carbuerated (spelling) cruiser to bop around in. Round or square taillight. My eyes will always be open.

But a big reason for selling is that the wife n I want to do some traveling with a travel trailer...and I'm a serious dirt bike rider and am tired of camping in a tent (winter is dirt riding time - gave up skiing for a dirtbike 10 years ago)

and a TT would be awesome for some of my dirtbike adventures.

That's it. I still have 3 other vehicles, 3 tractors and 2 dirtbikes to satisfy my habit for the immediate time being.

No apologies.
