Interestingly, I spoke to Jaymic before setting up this post last week.   Both Fay and Pete at Jaymic confirmed that the sills I posted are for cars up to Aug '73...  So, back to square one.  Can it be that the USA and Europe differed in spec in this regard?

I have now contacted Michael Cahsel of Germany, another specialist who, like Jaymic, deals only in 02s.  Michael's wife and business partner, Anita, sent me the attached photo stating that the bottom of the 3 types in the picture was fitted to cars manufactured up to Aug '73, which are available from them (used only), and for $178 Euros the pair, would you believe.  I have asked them to confirm this and the dates when the top and middle examples were fitted in the hope we can get to the bottom of this saga...

Well, I am amazed. Maybe there is a difference between Euro & USA '02s, but I find it difficult to comprehend.

The bottom one in the Cahsel pic is the same as I have on my November '73 built Touring, so, I know they were used past Aug '73 on Euros, and all 3 of my '76 '02s.

The middle one was used on USA (at least) early '70s cars (ie model 71).

The top one was probably for the late '60s cars.

So, if the broad ones were used up to Aug '73 then what was used for the model 73 cars ('74-'76)?

Here's a couple of pics of 1502s which I think answer the question as they were manufactured in '76.

Thanks for this.  I have today exchanged several emails and photos with both Jaymic and German dealers.  It appears there has been some errors in recent advice.   All parties have now agreed that the sills in the attached photo are for the following years:

Top  -  up to '71

Middle  -  up to '73

Bottom  -  up to '77

The original question arose from my assertion that the 'broad' sills were extremely rare and for cars up to '73.   It has now been confirmed, on this side of the 'pond' at any rate, that the sills in my original photo are neither rare, nor for cars up to '73.   They are for cars after '73 and there are many available.

I am now chasing some of the sills in the middle of the photo.   A challenge.

Phew...
