New 2002 Diana discovered

Hi guys, I have recently seen some photos from the 2016 BMW 02 Tour and have looked through a couple of the photos. As usual I saw andy andexer' BMW 2002 Diana but there was another car I saw. It looked like another Diana with the chrome headlights and it was in a colour that I don't think was a standard 02 colour. And I have found a page on Instagram about the Diana in Japan and as you all might have thought it is a clone (if you want to see this page search up #bmwdiana and it will come up). It also looks like this Diana is the Diana that is in the 12:00 position next to the Brown Diana that is still with us today and the yellow Diana that is also with us today

We were at Bavarian Tour (with 4 other American teams)   Car 102 was not listed as a Diana but rather as a 72 2002 in the program booklet we got      I remember seeing the car and it also had square tail lights on it so I suspect that it is not a real Diana as I am sure the owner would have listed it as such when he registered   Andy's Diana was listed as a Diana

Here is a picture of the American Team's cars including Tim's Tii   He was a big hit with those bumpers

The car pictured above is NOT a Diana. It is a 1972 german 2002 bought new by the father of the nowadays owner who`s name is Karsten. Car got the squared tail lights already in its early days at a BMW dealership after an accident. Dual headlight chrome grilles are selfmade by mixing parts of stock US-NK grilles and stock 02 chrome grilles and a WHOLE LOT of work and patience. S14 inside (2,5 or maybe 2,7 I think).

Best regards, Lars.

Thanks for the info. I was getting my hopes up two high. And just the way they did the double chrome headlights on this one looks exactly like the ones on the Diana's. By the way, very nice 2002's. And has anyone searched up the 2002 Diana on Instagram?

The 12 Dianas have consecutive VIN numbers, so it should be easy to identify them.  There have been reports of Dianas in Japan and also in Iran, but none of them have panned out as authentic. Since the Dianas were built at Baur in Stuttgart, Baurspotting has done a number of posts on them over the past few years.

This one has a pic of the Japanese faux "Diana" at the end of the post:
