What are those wheels?

Look like E30 steel wheels to me.

Assuming they are, those mount OK without clearance issues, spacers etc??? I'm over buying stuff that does not fit, it's been a trend for me ;-)

They are 14, ideally a 15 would make life easier on tires choices...

thanks !!!

Yes e30 steel wheels fit well but you can always run into problems by choosing wrong tires.

What is wrong with your Rotas? What specs? What tires?

Far as I know they're pretty commonly used.

They seem to fit - 14" ! My rotas don't fit, I like these ! imageproxy.php?img=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20160602%2F75af487fd5b9220a2c35e2a3d74b91e5.jpg&key=627151dd9565dcb4281ca68b8ee8e0742cc34ac048d6a5a9ac0379aac211f2da

There is a discussion on the FAQ about them. They are around $65 brand new bmw e30 wheels. They fit perfectly. I got mine from blunt. Call or email them and they can set you up with the wheels, lug nuts, and center caps. Oh yeah, they come in black so you get to paint them!daa45fe1be392b83c3647e62888d1dfb.jpg

Thanks ! I thought the black ones were 5.5 wide per the website I saw them on, there are also silver ones on bavauto for $15 more that are 6"... No paint required. I'd rather use steve though... I plan on using 185s tires.

As for the rota question: I have the rotas that look like minilites in 15, sold to me with the supposed correct offset, but they stick out of my fenders so much it's not funny.. always have, always will..  esp in the front !  Cue my car riding high because it rubs on 195s.

I called Steve and they are on order...  Black is all they come in, the 6" apparently are not correct.

Did you strip them, powerdercoat, or just scuff and paint ? Last time I got parts in black primer from bmw the primer was peeling off and removable with a fingernail...

No scuffing. Light coat of automotive primer. Then 2 coats of silver. Wurth is the best paint but I just used "duplicolor high performance wheel coating" on this job. Hand buff with a microfiber rag. It's holding up pretty well and has just enough sheen IMO. Have tires mounted by someone with a light touch and a smidge of common sense. Use stick on weights inside the wheel.
