Cast your mind back to March 1972.  I just bought my second car, a 64 Comet, for $100, but it needed a valve job.  At my after school job at the corner Citgo station, I haltingly undertook the procedure under the watchful eye of George, the manager.  When all was buttoned up I looked in the parts box and saw a washer.  "George, we left something off, what do we do?"  George looked at it seriously and then threw it over his shoulder.  "You always have something left over kid."
