  1. I just swapped out the bushings on my control arms the other day. Rented a ball joint press from the parts store and it spun them out with ease. The rod on the press is the perfect diameter for pressing the bushings out.
  2. Do you have any E21 axles with the CV joints?

  4. Well now that I finally got my car running well, I decided to take Carl's (@OriginalOwner) advice and take it for a nice mountain drive. My girlfriend and I took it for a nice drive up Highway 1, into the mountains, down Mulholland Drive, and back down to Highway 1 to home. It was such a beautiful day and a great drive for the 02. Gassing up on the way out Rock Store along the route, it was closed, but a pretty cool place anyway! Great view of the ocean on the way back down! I hope you all had a great Christmas also!
  5. I have a Weber 32/36 DGAV that I have rebuilt. I took pictures of everything as I took it apart, EXCEPT the back side of the choke assembly. Now I can't figure out if I'm putting it back together right or not. The throttle action should cause the choke plates to close to activate the choke when pressed all the way, shouldn't it? I can't seem to figure out how the two pieces of the assembly interact with one another. Can someone help me out or perhaps has a picture of what theirs looks like? Also, any tip on how the spring is supposed to latch would be appreciated!
  6. I have it bookmarked and ready to go, just gotta get everything ready to go back together. Thanks for the info, I'm sure it'll be a big help this weekend!
  7. That's brilliant! Thanks for that, I actually have the booster out of the car right now and will be reinstalling it this weekend. I even have an extra pin, so this should really come in handy.
  8. Over this weekend I was replacing E-Brake cables and ended up taking off the lever to make my life easier, except the part where the handle was a pain to reinstall. As I was trying to figure out how it went back together, I figured out I could assemble it outside the car, and put a 1/4in drive 10mm socket in the base where the large pin goes, and that would hold everything together. After doing that I just set it in place and pushed the socket out with the pin as I drove it in. Made everything much easier. I figured I'd share so others can get it done more easily. Attached picture that helped a ton.
  9. I would definitely want the installation kit too, just in case it's a separate piece I need to order!
  10. I'll probably be there, looking forward to meeting some '02 people! My '02 probably can't make it though... No distributor until it comes back in mid-November
  11. I emailed info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com yesterday for info about my 72. The replied with build date, date delivered to the US, and the original color with paint code.
  12. Haha, all that money they dropped into it they "have receipts" for, and they didn't even fix the brakes! Hopefully some of that went into the frame...
  13. PM'd on steering wheel if it's still available.
  14. If you're still looking to get that power valve in the carburetor replaced, this place sells rebuild kits that include them also: http://www.piercemanifolds.com/category_s/285.htm
  15. I had bluedevils redo my Autoflug seatbelts, he does great work! Definitely worth it!
  16. Alright, fair enough, I probably would have asked anyway to confirm since that link is for E21. As far as the turn signal relay, I figured out I could test that with the hazard switch, so I guess there is something else keeping the turn signals from working. The wipers don't work at all so I'm hoping that might have something to do with the relay.
  17. Cool, I did that some but I didn't find anything of value for the turn signal relay, so that definitely helps. For the other two I did google them but I just wanted to confirm I found the right stuff. Thanks for the help guys. Is there a way to check if the two relays still work? Or is that pretty much just a buy a new one and see if it does anything different type deal?
  18. Hey everyone, I'm working on trying to sort out some electrical problems in my 02. I was digging around under the dash and I found these three things. Does anyone know what they all do by any chance, and is there a way to test if they are still good? I think the one in the middle is for the windshield wipers since it says Wisch-Wasch-Geber which is wipe wash timer according to google. The one on the left is Hella brand and says Summer 91/82-12V on it, it's pretty hard to see in the picture. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. Wow, that looks like an amazing drive, I'm going to have to drive down there and check it out once mine is fully road-ready.
  20. I think a big part of what makes that car look weird is that it doesn't have the rear spoiler that completes the whole look. It would probably look a lot better if they had that on there too.
  21. I really like the turbo flares, I'm thinking about putting them on my roundie at some point.
