After much deliberation I removed the head on 73tii , chasing an oil leak, and found the issue of a badly corroded head. Unable to salvage, I am now on the hunt for a good used e12 head. anyone...anyone...

As a preservation tip to others:

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use *distilled* water and a 50/50 high quality antifreeze mix.

E12 head should be fairly easy to find. I wish you luck and a speedy recovery!

I had a hard time finding a replacement head for my car a few years back. It seemed like every head I looked at had cracks between the valves. Make sure to check it out carefully. I ended up having one repaired and wished I kept up the hunt to find a good one. It ended up being quite expensive to properly fix it.
