OK I’ll bite, what are the chances of getting both seats?

ken...william owned a beautiful malaga and it was wreck a couple or more years ago...iirc, on a san diego freeway...anyway, i think he bought the car back from the insurance company, started parting it out and listed the seats separately on ebay...i bough one and not the other because i didn't have the bucks to spend for the seat he has now..the seat i bought was damaged in the accident, twisting the frame quite a bit so it was priced right for me...after he had the seat listed a few times on ebay and didn't have any takers i made him an offer on the good one that he has listed here and that's what we were talking about...

if you want to buy the one he has listed here, i'd sell you the matching seat i have as well but it needs a bit of tweaking

that you used on your Recaro? Do you have a maker's name and color name/number? I have a pair of Recaros languishing in my basement while I try to find vinyl and cloth to match my caramel '73 interior.

cheers & thanx

vinyl since your door panels and rear panels have both been recovered (you can see the panels are both stitched rather than heat sealed and that color was not offered in 74-76, although you pulled them from a 72 they are later panels due to the lack of chrome at the top of the door panels and no black vinyl at the top of the rear panels ). It appears to be a very close match though!

Thank you for the comments. My malaga 72tii had bits from different years..73tii engine, 74 dashboard.... The color of the material is a very close match indeed; pics don't do it justice.

Mike - I don't have a source for that material, sorry.

Som1else - sure, I'll consider selling the front panels by themselves. Drop me a line via the email button above.

William

this might help compare the seat with the doors.

after the above pics, I changed the arm rests to the ones I just listed on the tweak'd first post.

That car was so much fun! Last interstate trip, 2010

Even Pepe loved the car

  • 1 month later...
Might be interested in both door cards front and rear and can pick up, but not at that price - it's the same as freshly recovered cards from aardvarc...

Thank you for your interest. Aardvark may be reached at 619 944 2002.

Best,

William

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
