For sale : Twin mikuni 44mm side draft carb set up

Recommended Posts

So I have a dual side draft set up that came off my running driving '72 2002. I've been hanging on to this with intentions to build an M10 for my '76 Mintgrun, but frankly it's never going to happen, and local Collector Plate criteria are super strict.

Anyways, I have everything in the picture that were on the car. The side drafts, filters, fuel pressure regulator, mounting manifold ect.

Just wondering if there was any interest out there?

Cheers,

Andrew

arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

timing is everything.....

i JUST spent $300 on rebuild kits and a few other bits n pieces from wolfcreek racing just to try to get a set of 44's useable and i still have more money to spend.

i would have loved to have purchased your setup....

if you decide to part them out i'd be interested in the linkage, velocity stacks and filters.

i plan to use my set as training wheels then ultimately install a set of solex DDH's in their place.

Ok, I took a bunch of pictures, maybe you guys can help me identify these?

The only stampings/marks I can see on the assembly (aside from the mikuni corps. stamp) is a 1/44 on the first intake runner, and 2/44 on the second intake runner. Am I correct in assuming these are 44's?

Anyways, just to clarify, they come with everything you see.

-Sidedrafts

-Intake runners

-Linkage set up

-Throttle cable set up

-FPR + fuel pump

They came off my running driving '72 2002. The car ran great , pulled hard, and sounded beastly. I don't know if it needs a "rebuild" but I would recommend a new pair of intake filters and fuel filter for good measure. They have been off the car for about 2 years, and I should also note that the car had always had a tank full of stabil in the gas, because it was not used as a daily driver.

Anyways, here are some pictures.

Note the under side of the intake runners are labelled 1/44 and 2/44

As for price, am I correct in thinking these are worth around $700 for the complete assembly or am I completely out to lunch? I know they are big $$$ to buy new, and you would also need the intake runners , plus linkage set up. I payed around $400 for my weber 38/38.

Anyways, thanks for the interest. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Sorry, but I'm not looking at a straight up swap, as I need to free up some funds in order to buy the exhaust I'm after.

I just checked and it does say 175, so they are indeed 44's. Cheers.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
